Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
^ Love the "stock" battery location. Does it like the extra heat?I synched these then took a ride to pick up a package and enjoy some space/vent a little steam. :naughty:

^ What mod is that?
Is it just pod filters, or more involved?
Looks like it would increase the intake noise nicely.

Whatever hp gains you got would be greatly enhanced by putting more free-flowing filters on there. I'd be willing to bet those pods are more restrictive than having the stock airbox and filter on there.I synched these then took a ride to pick up a package and enjoy some space/vent a little steam. :naughty:

I picked up a tank that was dented and nasty on both sides. My plan (after sawing away the big airbox hump) is to put in a nearly flat bottom to increase fuel capacity. What little (if any) gain in having the factory airbox instead of pods is way less than my smile factor of an extra gallon of fuel and its extended range.Whatever hp gains you got would be greatly enhanced by putting more free-flowing filters on there. I want to see pictures of the whole bike.
I did something similar with my 1st gen SV. I took a wedge-shaped section out of the underside of the tank and then rewelded it. Then I extended the front mounting points enough to still accommodate using the airbox.I picked up a tank that was dented and nasty on both sides. It is a bit too loud. (at least for me) I do like that there's no hanger, or heel marks on it. I bought a system from another member out in Portland, OR. I'll pick it up when I visit my nephews in August. A little bit bigger muffler and hopefully better sounding. That exhaust looks loud! That's a clean looking bike.
