got the Bridgestone BATTLAX BT-023 in today. attempted the zip tie tire mount method. result is a big negative. so i mounted it with the ol tire spoons. wrestled that son of a buck for a while. and only came out with a few scratches to the rim.
Feels great though eh? Now you can justify the spending $ on good rubber.
->Zip tie method is only good for the softest of tires.

Scroll down for two bottle method http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/How_do_I_synchronize_the_carburetors?

The advantage of this method compared to the oil in a tube method is that the liquid will never enter the vacuum hoses. This is a good thing since when I was adjusting the screw I got it so wrong that the throttle was really out of balance and the oil would have got sucked into the throttle body. With the bottle method, one bottle just runs dry when this happens. I would just shut the engine off, pour the oil from one bottle to the other and try again.

Tossed a new headlight on it, as well as putting longer brake lines on

Put new EBC HH pads on the front and standard EBC on the back.
The old pads weren't even that worn out, but holy hell, the EBCs bite soooo much better.
Let's hope my next thread won't be "I high-sided my bike"

Also washed my helmet padding.
Mmmmm, that clean and fresh spring smell in the helmet...

The idle has been porpoising from 950 to 1500 so I began to move the bike to a place where I can work. In doing so, knocked it off it's stand. (track bike no kickstand) It fell on a padded floor so the only damage was the left rear set was slightly bent inward. After picking it up and calming myself, I removed the air box in preparation to check the throttle body sync and check the spark plugs. The plugs look fine except the front one is a bit corroded from the sealing boot leaking a bit I guess.
I checked and set the throttle stop screw, located the vacuum take off nipples and that's as far as I got tonight before deciding to go in a watch the AMA super/sportbike races in Birmingham I DVRed. Tomorrow I'll hook up the gauges and check the sync. If that doesn't fix it, I'll be back here looking for ideas.

Ordered oil & filter, big maintenance day planned for Thursday...

Question: can turpenoid be used for chain cleaning? I have a lot of that around...
