Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Put the bike entirely back together. New front end including steering head bearings, and some miscellaneous parts around the bike. Took it for its first ride in 4 weeks, and noticed some issues :( The front wheel is bent slightly, and makes a noticeable vibration at speed. No idea what I'm going to do about that besides buy a new one.

Finished exploring the numbers for all possible cam arrangements from all versions of the 650 engine. All except any arrangement using SFV cams. I can't find the opening/closing angles anywhere. Anyone got them? If I ever fill all the missing data I plan on making a tech post with image overlays of the valve timing. At least, for the arrangements that shouldn't cause bent valves.

The two members using Pinky and the Brain references, you guys are awesome!

As for me, I rolled over 43k on my odometer bringing my total for the season so far to about 13.5k and about 26k total since I bought it last June. Started thinking about what i'd replace it with when I wear this bike out and realized I should be able to pick up another one for a song when/if that ever happens.

Phase 1 Complete. Just waiting on the Flyscreen and mount to get here to finish her up.

I also replaced about a dozen butt connectors with solder and shrink tubing. As much as the previous owner knew mechanically, he either isn't nearly as electrically inclined, or just didn't care. I think I'm about to start looking for an unmolested wiring harness and start over. Works out ok for me though I guess, I'd much rather be doing this than having to deal with mechanical issues.

Changed oil, cleaned and flossed the chain, lubed the chain, gave her a bath, and added reflective blue rim tape around the lower edge of the tank. Pictures of that later...

If you cover the tires in plastic wrap, they will off-gas less and be less exposed to ionization, and thereby be stickier next season...

Here's a shot of my bike with the new reflective stripe around the tank...
