Cleaned her up a bit and decided to give the radiator side guards the oil cooler guard a little paint job with some plasti dip. I didn't like the brushed silver look anyways in the radiator so black it is.

i wish i could get bikes into the basement... there's space for at least two dozen.... and i'm f'ed for space right now with 5 in the garage
Haha yeah I have some double doors that open up to the lower half of my back yard. My current problem is that I also have to finish getting some junk (which my girlfriend claims is not junk) out of the garage.

Being sick of the false neutral between 5th and 6th, I replaced the shift star with the 05+ model per very detailed instructions found in this thread http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?pagenumber=1&threadid=189382

Everything went rather smoothly. I didn't need a clutch holding tool, just put the bike in 1st and lock the wheel up while zipping the 27mm nut off. Putting everything back together, I spent most the time removing the old paper gasket off the case. Plastic scrapper couldn't bulge it. I finally found a thin bar of copper that was able to scrape the old gasket off. Phew.

Initial impressions with the new setup is that shifting pedal is firmer but more assured. Hopefully this will cure the false neutral.

Refitted refreshed shock and rear wheel on SB. Also went through the carbs completely. New gaskets and o rings everywhere. Test run to be completed tomorrow.

Took measurements and ordered new bearings to accommodate captured spacers for the rear wheel of the SS loaner bike.

Did you use the K&L? Was there a large O-ring left over when you were done?

I checked the oil and started her up for the first time of the season. The old sv fired right up but I didn't have time to ride due to work appointments.

Hey! I'm a gonna break the rulz and tell you what I did to my SV last Saturday.

I started that ***** UP!
She fired on perhaps the second hit. Hadn't been touched since early November when the brutal ass winter began

Not today, since it's drastically cold. But this past week. I replaced 9 year old tires with new ones. By the way, I'm doing that by myself next time, never, ever going to a shop, especially the one near my house.

Waiting on the weather to get back into the 50's so I can finish cleaning my bike. Giving it the first full clean it's had since I bought it back in 2011. The inner swingarm was ALL BLACK.

After that, I have new sprockets and a chain to replace, spark plugs, the aTRE and TPS adjustment too.
