Well tonight it's 30 degrees in the Paris of the Piedmont, and I'm going face the icy kiss of winter's breath and ride into town, since the bike has been sitting for 9 days (I was outa town). Will get to test out those heated grips! No it's not 5 degrees or -17, and for that I am thankful. There's really no need to winterize the bike down here, we get plenty of good days. But there's also plenty of days where I'm Really glad I also have a car.

Does Anyone else feel like the climate around here has been steadily shifting from "temperate" to "spastic" in the last decade?

Yep, definitely spastic. Glad Pres Obama mentioned Climate Change in his speech, b/c even if everyone doesn't believe in it, we have to start doing something about it.

Just like Biya said, it's been so cold recently, today at about 9F I was out w/o a hat or gloves and my jacket unzipped and it felt refreshing.

Oh, and walked past the SV and made a promise to it that I'd be spending more time with it this week.

Posted it for sale :(. It's been a good couple of years, but it's really just too big for me. I hope it will find a good home.
Woah, I havent heard many people discribe an SV like that... Good luck to you friend, I hope you arent giving up on motorcycles all together.

Gave the good ol' fatlady new undies. after making her all wet and taking them off, in pieces of course. She hasn't ever been touched. She was a good girl about it, only broke her plug. Got new disc to put into her and then she's ready for more riding. It's alright, she has a whole new outlook on her long healthy life. Money well spent.

Aw c'mon. Are you really littler than me? I'm a skinny little old lady who is 5'4" with a deep breath that weighs 125 soaking wet. If you have any second thoughts, you could ask me about my work arounds that don't involve lowering links.

I'm a little confused. Do you have an SV you are trying to sell, or are you referring to the CB750F listed in your profile? I had a 79 CB750F, and it's a lot bigger than an SV. If you are referring to an SV, no worries, I've already found your next bike:

The new KTM 390 Duke.

You're welcome.

Not to it, but for it, sort of. I bought one of the Harbor Freight wheel chocks, then took it apart, and attached the little tilting bit to the rail that goes on my trailer. Should make it a little easier to load and strap down, and more secure while transporting.

Now I just have to figure out what to do with the rest of the chock. :dontknow:

Post a picture of the "rest of the chock" I could come up with an idea..

Put on my new cowling, previous owner mismatched spray paint in some sad attempt to cover up a lowside and it had just 1 tab still holding it on, I didn't help things on my 40 mph get-off in Sept, either. :( Put on new headlight assembly, previous owner had the right lens scratched and sorta fogged a bit in the corner. Put on the new under belly plastic piece, previous owner had 1 of 4 tabs left and super glue used to hold it to the previously mentioned older fairing. Before the season ended I put on a new windshield, previous was scratched to **** on the INSIDE from...taking the dash board plastic piece off and on. That same piece was cracked and broken a bit, and further in my aforementioned get off, now replaced.

So the whole front end of the bike is new in looks once I get the new mirrors and turn signals (Faux-zoma) in mid Feb. I knew this **** when I bought the bike. It's why I talked him down, and besides I'm a sucker for red and black. I just think it's kinda sad that I've owned 3 bikes and I'm easily the most caring owner for every bike I've ever owned.

Without the part I used. I already have another chock in the garage I use for parking the bike. The bottom plate might get used for my idea to secure the rear of the bike. For the rest, any suggests are welcome, because right now I'm thinking it might go to the scrapyard - or more likely, the trash.

Brighter LED's in the hot bodies undertail and a new licence plate bracket.
Regarding the license plate bracket. You may want to invert it, so the white lights are pointing up and towards the front of the bike. I don't know about where you ride, but in many jurisdictions, having white lights projecting rearward from any vehicle (except backing lights) is a big no-no, and easy justification for a traffic stop. You can use tin snips to take a little chunk out of your license plate to route the wires. It will end up looking like this:

By the way, I love your paddock stand. I wish I would have bought one of those.

I like the blue/red combination.

Changing tires with spoons SUCKS! Changed the rear last night. Replaced the f3 wheel bearings. Cleaned the rim and remounted the wheel. Strung the new chain and called it a day.

Still have to cut the chain, install master link, replace fork seals (again), mount the front rim after it gets new rubber, and change the plugs. She'll be ready for next season.......finally.
