I've been working on installing flush LED turn signals in the front after my coworker ran over my SV with his truck. Somehow he managed to mangle his front quarter panel, while I only came away with a broken turn signal and slightly scratched pannier. I'm also wiring the parking lights to flash with the turn signals, in the hopes of compensating for the reduced visibility of the flush signals. Pics soon...

Completed my ZX-10r swap! Only took 3 hours because the top bolt rolled into the grass and I coulnt find it and kept furiously trying the other (shorter) ones

I went 140mph, and yes before I get scolded it was on a nice long straightaway with no traffic, so please don't be too harsh to me. ?

If that straight wasn't part of a racetrack, you were risking a lot more than your personal safety.

I know the risk.

That's not his point, on a racetrack you have a collective of people all aware of the risk. On a public road you are placing other people at danger outside of their will, whether the road is empty or not.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." tell me how others are at risk without others there? Look, it was a once thing with me, and I already acknowledged that I was going to get **** for it, but I'm certain that there is a high percentage of bike owners on this sight who has done this once in their riding years.

Yeah, I used to do it, almost died, and got suspended for a year. I'm not saying you can't do it, but don't polish the turd and say it was OK to do.

I obviously don't know the road, but if you lose it and launch to a street which is crossing above or below you can still hit someone, not to mention you never know who's going to merge onto the highway.

It was a straightaway that has no above and below or any on/off ramps for quite a while. I only took it to that speed, then came right down to normal speed. Was it the smart thing to do, no, not really, but I'll just chalk it up to lack of judgement and long lost youthful exuberance that I just wanted to relive ever so briefly. ?

Yep, but I'm on a 650 so I only hit 131, and it was on a straight country road on a clear day. It was a couple years ago and still remains the fastest I have ever gone. I was a little braver than you and held it there for about 10 seconds. There were gravel cross streets with stop signs, but visibility was good, so I could see potential car hazards way ahead of time. It also helped my buddy on a Ducati was hitting in the 140's ahead of me. Also, I'm well out of my youth, and my Ducati bud is about 2 years from retirement

To keep with this thread, I rode it home from the Cities today, but only hit 97 once.

Yeah the visibility was good for me also, and it helped that I knew the police were busy at an accident (nothing major), it's a small town and there were about 5-6 police cars at it.
