Just bought a rear hugger for the 1K, brand new, painted, shipped to the door for $83! Cant beat that. I was going to try to make one (Im decent with fiberglass) but it would cost about that, or more in just materials.

Not "today", but over the last few weeks:
  • Repaired the body panel tabs that had busted when the previous owner dropped the bike
  • Wired up the new rear brake light/flasher combo to replace the one that broke when the previous owner dropped the bike
  • Painted the radiator guard I made out of some metal gutter screen
  • Installed a Galfer brake line kit on the front, flushed the brake systems on the front and rear, and bled both brakes
  • Prepped the front fender + extender for painting
  • Started on prepping the Buell XB footpegs for installation
  • Sent off my seat for Spencer Seats to modify

New battery installed. The last one (Bikemaster Gel) was only 11 months old, but bikemaster warrentied it out so I got a new one for free, no complaints.

Fresh oil change.

My new hi-viz mesh jacket came in the mail. Win! :D

And then I adjusted the right arm, and the freaking button pulled right out of it. Fail.

Brought it back to Cycle Gear and had 'em order me a replacement. I'm hoping that's a one-off situation because other than that I really like the jacket. New one should get in on Monday.

Over the last couple months, I converted my S to naked, put on some new Pirelli Angels, and I got my R1 forks installed!! See my thread HERE for details.

By Friday, my new chain and 0/+2 sprockets should be here, too.

Raised idle to 1350 (wow huge difference at low speeds), replace clutch slave cylinder seal and rebled clutch, cleaned up front sprocket cover (Ish) and re routed my 3 cigarette light adapter port. :)

Successful night

Dragged a foot-peg for the 1st time today in a traffic circle today. Kinda startled me, but kinda cool at the same time. Guess I'm getting better at leaning like I'm supposed to in turns :)

Finally got around to buying a tube of rubbing compound to take a mark off my tank. The PO tipped it over in his truck and the bedliner marked up the small dent on the tank. The dent is there but now it's far less obvious.

Rode it to work, while at work was thinking what should my next mod be?

I broke the throttle tube so I just ordered an R6 tube to replace it.

Have you tried enlargening the mounting holes on the ignition? When I first put my bike back together in "lets just get **** working"-mode, I just used 1 screw to totally avoid this. It was such a weird feeling when mine was binding. Felt like I had a 100lb monkey on my tail and it was swinging back and forth.

I'll try to use one bolt and see how that works.

Enlarge which holes? The only holes are tapped, so I can't do anything with them, unless I misunderstand what you're saying.

Sounds like it might have been too warm to cover right away :)
The cover sits higher than the pipe, I just hooked the elastic on the passenger peg and didn't realize how close and how hot the pipe was. :)

Now I'm conscious of it every time and use the hook shape on the passenger heel guard to loop it around. :)

removed 8900e penske from 2000 sv.
swapped springs on 8900e and 8981 penskes (8900e originally 650-7 spring and 8981 had a 7-500 spring)
installed 8981 on 2000 sv:

then installed 8900e on SVK6S. this was stupid easy esp compared to the other sv!

Changed out the right fork seal and changed oil in both fork legs. Swapped out pilot pure front for Q2 front. Also toying with a few paint colors to see what color scheme I'm going with next.
