Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)

Yanked off the knockoff Driven D3 grips for a set of stockers for the time being. Gotta find some new ones this evening. The machined aluminum pieces looked better than they felt.
Also modified and installed another R6 throttle tube. The first one I had, I took off because it kept sliding past the stops. I epoxied some ziptie material to the stops on the tube to match it up with the height of the stock tube
Motosliders. Better late than never right? Fortunately I got them before any major incident, but dropping it in a parking lot and breaking the clutch lever and bending the shifter would have paid for this already.
My mom was poking fun saying that now that I had then I'd never drop it again. I said "yeah, that's kind of the idea" lol
Rode mine for the first time this year... I totally forgot about my batteries in my bikes since November when I put them away for the season... the Marauder battery was only down about .5 V but still over 12 and the sv was even better at almost the same as it was when I left it... guess parking at 22 degrees C in underground parking prevents the drain... good thing though otherwise if it had dropped much, it would have damaged the battery...
The bike started up just as well as it did when I put it away, just a tap on the button and it was good to go.
My tires were down about 5-10 PSi though...
Oddly enough the gravel on the roads is not all that bad this year... but the salt can be a little slick in places... and those cagers are even worse than they are in the summer
Took my first ride since installing my GSXR rear wheel and 180/55 tire. Definitely a bit different and I think I need to look at the slack in my chain again. I adjusted it toward the loose end of factory spec and I could tell it when riding.
I drove my bike for the second time this week to work. It's going to be 70's all week here in Denver. Which can mean only one thing, we should get a blizzard in the next two weeks or, as luck would have it.
Drove it to work.. fairly comfortable, dry +4 degrees C was supposed to rain a little at 10:00ish in the morning, then get up to about 10 C this afternoon... which it did... then supposedly great weather for the next couple days... no clouds in the sky.. so I decide to hit the gym... but 30 mins in I see some flakes coming down so I bailed and headed for home only to hit a blizzard a few miles down the road... then the temp quickly dropped down to about 0 degrees C
I did get to see how well the original Pilot Powers handle slimy salty post winter road grime with a sh!t-ton of snow... good thing it was melting as it hit the road
The tires held up fairly well... but it is a b!tch trying to drive with snow collecting on your visor causing it to simultaneously fog up on the inside even cracked open a good inch
remind me to kick that weather guy in the nads the next time I see him...
I’ve been working on the bike sporadically when I find some time after work or weekends. Last weekend I installed my Penske rear shock and this weekend helped Domiken with his shock. Yesterday I finally got to get rid of my cut up plastic rear fender. To do it right without wrestling with everything I removed the rear wheel and while I had it off I cleaned it up a bit too. I still have tons more to do. I also swapped out my Vortex clip-ons for my new Woodcraft clip-ons. What a difference for my back but I’m going to need some more seat time with it to get used to the new position and how the weight distribution is. With the lower stance of the Vortex I had a better feeling of what the frontend was doing. Unfortunately my lower back couldn’t deal with anything longer than 2-3 hours before I was aching. Here was my bike while I was working on it.
I have a Suzuki Marauder (became m50) cruiser along with my SV... they really aren't more comfortable anywhere but the wrists..... but on a slow mountain ride without a lot of great twisties... well I'll take the Marauder... otherwise the SV is a far superior ride... I may end up trading in my cruiser for an old school V-Max or something... they are comfortable.. but the g-force on acceleration is fun!.... too bad they have such short range and eat tires.. still though.... I think I would prefer a MAX and a SV... maybe a dual sport too....
I also have a 57 triumph Tiger 110 that my dad gave me if I ever get around to restoring it.... not sure how that would be on a long ride though....
you can never have too many bikes... I'd probably have more if I had a garage and not an underground parking stall in my condo..... some people spend their money on video games or booze or hookers.. whatever... if I had the space I'd be buying all sorts of bikes... even though my winter is usually 9 months of the year
really get one bike for each mood... just keep a beater of a car for those non riding days... I know I'd have a much nicer car if I didn't have a penchant for motorcycles... who needs a $45,000 car and a $10,000 home stereo system if you have 5 bikes in the garage and a beater car for the non bike days? I get much more out of my bikes than I do my car or TV/Stereo system at home...
