Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

i agree with mopar about ordering online. you can find them alot cheaper.

the problem ive run into though, is that alot of places will not mount and balance tires that you didnt buy from them.

which is why im going to start doing my own.:D

If I had to guess, the $69 isn't to mount and balance the tire, it's mostly for removing the wheel and then reinstalling it. Watch some videos and do some reading on how to remove your wheels on your own and then just bring the wheels and tires to the shop and have them mount the tire for you. Shouldn't be more than $15-$20 a wheel to mount and balance. If it's more than that find someplace else, or start piecing together your own tire changing equipment, maybe even chip in with a few buddies.

1. Tore down the tail to figure out how to do a DIY fender eliminator. Holly smokes theres a lot of bolts and things holding that sucker on.

Got it apart, will take it to work to massage some of the parts and also use the heat gun to remove the SV650 stickers.

2. Installed a used set of Pazzo shorty levers. Literally took three minutes. I didnt realize how easy it would be to do. Felt nice to get rid of the broken stock levers that the PO broke when she dropped the bike on both sides.

3. Started to take the N headlight and cover off. Didnt realize there was so much space behind the light. The little gears in my head are now turning....

4. Test fit my new Rapid Transit Recon 19 bag. It fits! I can now ditch my backpack I was using last year unless Im going on longer rides.

Now it needs to stop snowing get the bike un-winterized and start riding!

Put it up on stands, attached the battery tender, installed some JPR shorty levers, changed the oil, and am now scrounging up all the spare parts from other projects (all car bits left over from the years of collecting, gonna sell it off and buy suspension bits for the SV)

Gave it a long awaited and anticipated home out of the elements instead of being stored and worked on in the back yard.

LOL. Most of my tools including the tire changer and balancer are still inside the house. I am trying to keep the main area clear as it will easily fit a bike on stands to work on.

I am getting there. I have only had it for 2 days. Lots to do yet ;D

I RODE IT!

it's been in storage for a while, But mother nature must be confused because its the 6th of January and there is NO snow, and its above 45 degrees.

So I got the battery in it, started her up and went for a spin!

The last time I rode a motorcycle this time of year was when I had my crf230 with ice tires.
