Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Finally put on the TechSpec tank grips that I've had for a month. I've been waiting for it to warm up some and it was almost 80 today. Added a little hair dryer heat for good measure and they stuck pretty well. Then I pulled my license place, all the turn signals, and mirrors and then taped up the brake lights and headlights in prep for a track day this weekend.

Today, I pulled her out of the garage for the first ride of the season. Started by checking and adjusting tire pressure, I then did a quick check over everything, looking for loose fasteners or anything out of place, checked the oil, lubed the chain and loaded the tank bag with some basic tools and zip ties, just in case, then went out for a nice long ride. About 52 degrees, sunny and did 160 miles through some decent country roads, including about a mile or two of dirt road so we could look at a camp for sale. Was a great day!

I finished installing a 06 ZX6r Radial MC.

I put it (mostly) back together after rewiring my HIDs (moving the ballasts to under the seat).

I also put a FH016AA (Mosfet) Regulator on from a Kawasaki.

Now suddenly my high beam HID doesnt work. If I switch the leads from low to high, low works, but high still doesnt so I believe my bulb is burnt out (or I managed to damage it somehow). So big thumbs down there.

This weekend Im hoping to get time to put in new fork seals and emulators.

Put on my 1" riser links, PAIR valve delete, Rhino lined my rear sets and my passenger pegs. Anyone want a set of Vortex lowering links? I think the heights are stock, .5" lower and 1" lower 20$ shipped. PM me.

Okay, alright. It was almost embarrassingly expensive, but then, since I've never had anything anodized, I'm not sure. I went to a place called Alexandria Metal Finishers, and for chemical stripping, bead blasting and hard anodizing of all the parts you see, it was a paltry $291.00.

Hopefully it lasts.

Installed the GPR steering damper I bought from another member of SVrider! Works great although it's still pretty bizarre to feel that heaviness in the steering. Spectacular! Between that and the rain I was riding like such a newbie. Ah well. Takes some getting used to I suppose.

I installed a 2005 oem suzuki sv650s rear tire hugger. Bought it on ebay (brand new) from a place in Puerto Rico on Monday received yesterday. Only $135 when dealerships want 199-249 for the same thing. I only took 1 pic so far because we have a nasty storm here so when it stops raining I will take more pics.

I think it looks pretty good!

I installed MotoSliders.

That is usually an easy task, but it was a little more complicated than I anticipated. The PO had installed some sliders that mounted forward of the position used by MotoSliders. About a week ago, I tried to get the job done, but when I removed the old sliders, I found that the bolts were too long to be used put back in. So I had to order the OE bolts to go back in when I removed the original sliders. I guess I could have left the front sliders on and added the MotoSliders, but then I would have two sets of sliders; unique, but retarded. :dizzy:

So, fast forward a week. I got the OE bolts. I removed the front sliders, put in the OE bolts. THEN I could finally put the MotoSliders on. Yea! They're on. I feel so official now!!

Patched abrasion in radiator hose. Drained, flushed, and refilled coolant system. Changed oil. Mounted frame sliders (T-Rex). And went for a ride with my wife.

We're waiting on some pants for her (Hein Gericke from Extreme Supply - and proof that I must love her, because her helmet, gloves, boots, jacket and pants are all better than mine).

I installed emulators in my forks. I got some already modified damper rods from Tovar, so it was kind of a drop in installation. Except one of the bolts didn't want to let go all the way to let me get the damper rod out. It would turn with a lot of torque, but wouldn't loosen. I screwed around with trying to get it loose for about an hour, but it just wouldn't loosen up. So I dug around in a box of tools that I don't use much.

Fortunately, I found a 3/8" drive 6mm hex socket, so I could use an impact. ZIP, it was off in .00025 seconds. :)

I had to do some other stuff after I finished, it was getting late and it was raining, so testing it out will have to wait til Tuesday.

Doing a job like this is super messy, but I think that the hassle will be worth it.

On my '02 naked last weekend I installed a 636 shock; replaced the stock R/R with a MOSFET kit from roadstercycle.com; installed an OEM rear fender and turn signals in place of the kludged-on cheapo fender eliminator kit and lights done by a previous owner; and added a set of SW-Motech side racks with Givi E21's.

Next weekend I'll treat the front end to Sonic springs and Ricor Intiminators.
