Reprogramming Odometer

I'm rebuilding an '05 S that was hit in the front. The speedometer was damaged so I acquired a new used one. The bike was an insurance purchase and sat in a warehouse for several years before I got it. The original mileage on the bike is around 400 miles (the LCD works briefly before going black).

What I would like to do is find out what the procedure is for reprogramming a replacement speedometer with the original mileage. Thought I'd see if anyone here has ACTUAL experience with this procedure before I contact a Suzuki service shop. Please PM me if you have specific info. Thanks.

Disappointing, but so far true. Our local service shop says they know of no way to flash the memory. Since the damaged original speedo sort of works, I might look into repairing it, within reason.

I think with aftermarket gauges you can set the mileage to what you want.

I'm not sure why you are set on having the mileage spot on. Just install the gauges with 400 miles on them and go with it. If it bothers you, on the title, check the box that says the mileage on the odometer is not correct. :dontknow:
