Hey guys, just wondering if the majority of you would say it would be an easy job for an average guy to reassemble the 2002 sv650s motor? I took it all out myself now I am wondering how hard of a job it will be to put a new one back in? Following the service manuel.
Thank you
EDIT* Also what would you guys find to be the hardest part?

I agree with the first part, not the second. You gotta start somewhere.

Yes, you can do it. I hope you took lots of pics before tearing it down. If not, don't worry, the world isn't over.

Make use of the service manual and us. We'll walk you through any questions you have.

I've never pulled the engine from the SV, but I have serviced the cams. I am in the process of disassembling my Focus' drivetrain to install a new clutch. I'm also now reassembling a Harley engine that I took apart to individual components. If I, a complete noob to engine work a mere three years ago can do it, so can you.

From what I've seen on these boards, people who are removing and reassembling engines are methodical about documenting the order of disassemble, documenting/grouping locations of parts and even bolts. Did you label stuff and organize it to where you could easily put stuff back together? If not, you might have a problem. Post in your regional forum and see if you can't get an experienced member to help.

It's not much harder than taking it out - all the electricals have unique plugs. The hard part would be if you just took all the bolts out and put them in a bucket.

Last time I pulled the engine, every bolt I took out went right back into it's hole when it could. Makes reassembly a breeze.

Fixed

I read what you wrote the first time and laughed out loud. Putting the thing back in the frame shouldn't be too bad tho :)
