Me and a buddy of mine are going 50/50 on it. As for what we are going to do aesthetically, not sure. Might not be a bad idea just to restore it to it's stock looks. We're not looking for perfection as this will be a learning process for the both of us and I know we'll make mistakes.
SOLD TO ME FOR $200!!!
1984 Honda Sabre VF700S w/26k miles
Sorry for the crappy pics.
At the owners house where it's been sitting for the last 6 years.
In my van.
At my friends house who is going in 50/50 with me on this project
This past Sunday...spent about 3 hours on it.
So the bike will not start. Drain the old gas, put in new gas. Replaced battery. Oil level is fine, but I know we'll replace it asap. Replaced spark plugs, we squirted some gas into where the plugs go in. Seems to have good compression. We heard it struggling to start for like 2 seconds, but we came to the conclusion that there wasn't any gas flowing from the tank (didn't see any fuel drain from the float bowls - no fuel flow, or just gummed up?).
Ideas? Carbs gummed up?
Had the following reply
I know eventually, we'll tear it down, rebuild the carbs, etc.

We found a honda petcock rebuild kit on ebay for this bike. We'll see how it goes with that before we tear it down more and get to the carbs. #1 thing is to get this thing running.
