The wifey got me one of those shower mirrors for shaving in the shower, as opposed in front of sink, that I do now. Its one of those combo units....mirror, radio, and led light...she got it from avon....she sells that crap.

Anyway, right away on first use, the **** thing fogs right up. its a PIA to have to wipe it off every 2 seconds to be able to see what i am doing.

Anyone have any remedies for making it stop fogging? I would think the mirror itself would be antifog, but obviously, that is not the case. I windex, split and plexus....none stop the fogging.

TIA.

You could try catcrap (the product, not actual catshit), I use that on my visor and it works pretty well. I've also heard of people wiping on a thin film of dishwashing soap then buffing it to stop fogging but I never got it to work very well.

I don't think there's a durable anti-fog that you can apply. Cat crap needs repeated application. So does toothpaste. Both will allow water to condense on the surface, creating a murky image. Can you hit that thing with water? If you can get it to the water temp, it will be less likely to fog.

Or just take cold showers.

Yea I shave in the shower most of the time and I don't use a mirror. I just don't shave close to my sideburns and then I touch them up when I get out.

what do you guys think of trying to wax it with some auto wax..I like to use Zymol. I wonder is that would keep the condensation from building?

I used to put a thin layer of shaving cream on my shower miror and then wipe it off before shaving. You have to do it everytime you use the miror, but it will keep the miror from fogging up long enough to shave. It's easy enough, you already have the shaving cream out to shave.

Those mirrors are useless.....Someone gave me one as a gift that didn't fog for about a week, after that I was wiping it every 10 seconds. I just use the sink, it's much more efficient. I always make sure to rinse the hair away and wipe all the water off the sink when I am finished though.

I don't see how you guys do it without seeing what you're shaving; I would have nicks and sections of unshaven hair all over the place.

I dont use a mirror either. I shave my head and face in the shower 4 times a week. I actually shower in the dark most times. Before I bought my house Id be in complete darkness since it had no windows. but my house master bath has a glass dooe right in front of the bedroom window so I cant escape light in my house unless I use the girls bathroom, but then theyd think im crazy

Anti-fog solution for either swim or snow goggles... I've contemplated putting some of that stuff on my windshield, just so I don't have to wait for the coolant to heat up before I can use the defroster :p

I Have a cheapo antifog that i got at target or someplace. I have also had the expensive brookstone ones. None of them are fogless. You just gotta splash some water on them to clear away the fog. You know what else? I also discovered that by getting so close to see what i was doing (i can't see well without my contacts in...which go in after the shower), i was inadvertently breathing on the mirror, making it fog up quite a bit quicker than normal.

Good luck. shaving in the shower is better than out.

I got a sweet electric razor for Christmas that is made to use wet or dry. Electric razor in the shower is the only way to go. I just use the bottom of my ears as a guide for the sideburns and skip the mirror.

So as not to be completely useless in this thread...have you tried any RainX brand products for fog reduction? I use to be a big fan of their stuff.
