Ok i know this is a bad knock off of the SV650s, but my question is this.........do the forks fit the Sv? The inverted forks have to be better than the stock sv forks. Actually its not a bad looking bike, kinda sporty in its own way. That bike comes with the things the sv should have, but i do understand keeping production costs low in order to keep the price low.
Found this on craigs list :

Inverted front forks and a mono-shock rear, top of the line suspension. 79 Horsepower and 64 miles per gallon. Adjustable rear sets for rider customization. Twin front discs and single rear disc for great stopping ablility, and full digital LED instrument display to keep the rider informed in all conditions. Brand new, never ridden crotch-rocket.

That suspension is NOT top-of-the-line.  It has been compared to the sv (and other bikes) in several comparos by different publications.  USD doesn't mean s**t.  It's still a non-cartridge, telescopic fork.  The bike consistently places last in all tests.  Top reasons in all shootouts are:  supension, weight, and build quality.

We all know how bargain the sv's supsension is, but most of the testers make the sv sound like it has a full ohlins setup on it compared to the hyo, so there's no reason to put the forks on there. They'd probaby be more expensive than gixxer forks anyway since they're way less common, especially used examples.

I was just wondering. I dont know much about the bike. Ive seen one parked at the hospital where i work at and it is a nice looking bike, performance wise i had no idea how it measured up to the Sv

I would be hard pressed to understand why a bike that is heavier than our beloved SV, same displacement, has more horsepower (right....79 vs 70), gets better gas mileage....64?????? Maybe 64 KPG, but not MPG....that's scooter/moped territory.

It doesn't have more power, at least not to the wheels.  Every test I've seen has it a few bhp under the SV.  And it's around 80 lbs heavier.  All steel.  The sv has a lot of aluminum.

Edit: when I get home, I'll grab my mag (i think it's a cycle world) that has all the numbers in it. Wet weight, dyno hp, fuel mpg, etc and post it up. It's on these forums somwhere already, but I don't feel like searching for it.

The 79hp claim is bullshit.  Its def down a few ponies to the SV.

Don't believe the "top of the line suspension" crap either, not true.

I would think finding a set would be hard but not impossable.

question is, would they fit on the Sv. Guess researching the prospect wouldnt be a total waste of time. Could be cheaper than buying aftermarket ones.

Take a CLOSE look at the build quality of these Hyosung bikes..............it's CRAP,.shoddy welds, heavy castings/steel,porosity,etc:..........they look nice, from a distance or in a magazine...........BUT BUYER BEWARE, they're NO SV.

Funny, i stood not 1 foot from a 2007 GT650R and the welds didnt look shoddy. Plastic was just like the sv's. Front forks looked strong ( some guy my size pressed down on the front end and it barely moved, while i can press down on my Sv's front and almost bottom it out. BTW im 6'4" 236 lbs).
People see hyosung and think cheap. I remember back in the day when Honda ruled the road and when suzuki came to america you heard cheap.

No you have it all wrong. Im not getting one, im happy with my Sv ( well except the stock seat, feels like a brick was used for padding) I was just wondering about the front forks thats all. Everyone does the gixxer front end, i was looking to do something else, you know stray from the norm. Thats one of the reasons why i bought my first sv ( im on my 3rd one) to stray from the norm. Everyone has a gixxer,R1 etc etc. I like to be different. I was just asking about the front end. If i can fit a TL front end, etc, then i will go that rout. I have no intentions on getting a Hyosung, besides after seeing the 07 Sv1000s all in black at biketoberfest, ive decided thats my next ride ( if i can talk the significant other into it)

got ya! :)

i was just saying, the rest of the bike doesnt seem too good of quality,so id say go an other route.look into the TL front end, theres a thread on that in the 99-02 forum right now i think..you can do ninja front ends as well, from what ive heard,.

The 250 might make a great bike for a new rider or an in town commuter. They may not hold up to aggressive riding comparos, but hyosung does make decent products. I would consider one of those over a scooter any day.
Stats;
Hyosung GT250 Comet
Engine Size 250cc
Price $ 3,199
Horsepower 30HP
Fuel Economy 72MPG

The GT650 may not hold a candle to our beloved SV, but this little gem looks to me to be a promising ride in the beginner market. Priced Slightly below the ninja 250 and well below other decent makes of little rides. For example, the 250cc big ruckus MSRP is $5,500. The price is well in line with the seriously outdated Honda rebel/Suzuki gz250/nighthawk 250. Of the group i like the styling of the hyosung better and would love to see how the handling stands up to the ninja ;-)
