Start at the rear wheel. Put it up on a rear stand and spin the wheel and look/listen to see if you can find anything unusual.

Lol. Ill do that. I know my chains a lil tight. Supposed to have it adjusted in the next couple of days.

 

Always keep the chain on the loose side. If it's too tight it will put tension on the bearing and seal of the countershaft - not good.

That could be it. A tight chain will make some odd noises.

What do you mean by "supposed to have it adjusted..." - don't you do it yourself?

 

I've owned my SV for a few weeks. I will be honest, I am not mechanically inclined to do much. I have a few buddies that have been helping me out. I assist them and have been learning. My bike didn't even come with a manual. I have to order that too. I know its sad, I would love to be able to do all my own work, but I lack experience. Lol, that's why I joined this site. Figured other SV guys would be better to assist.

 

We loosened my chain a bit and I still hear the noise when moving. Its definitely a moving part (I believe near a wheel) because it isnt a constant scraping noise, its every couple of seconds as if its a spinning part. My buddy thinks the front brake rotor may be warped. Its annoying, but bike performance is fine.

 

You need to do more testing then. Is it coming from the front or the back?

Get the wheels off the ground (one at a time) and spin them to see if they make the sound.

If it's the rear, you can remove the chain and see if that stops the sound. You need to systematically go through a checklist and eliminate different areas if you want to know where it's coming from.
