Clutch switch bypass question

I have a 2000 sv650 so no fuel problems by doing this. The reason I want to do this is the new pazzo levers I put on do not activate this sensor when in the 1-3 setting however they do in the 4-6. This is annoying I don't want that setting and I don't want to start it in setting 6 and switch to 1. So I looked in to it and all I could find was this

Because I could find no posts about rigging the lever aside from one guy saying he put a small spring so it gave it the additional space. If there is more info on this id love it.

But my real question is why no one just flipped the stupid thing around? (Excluding the plastic tab breaking or being stranded yada yada I guess exclusively to new levers not pushing that tab far enough over)

I flipped the whole thing 180? and so it thinks the clutch lever is engaged when it's not. So are there any reasons as to why this is not good? Will it use up my battery? I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Because it was way quicker to flip the thing around than to cut wires and ect.

So what is your question?

If you want the clutch switch to still function, I have cut small squares of clear plastic packaging to use as shims and used JB Weld to glue them to the contact area on the lever. They are usually not visible in use. You can add shims until you have enough. Since it works at setting 5 or 6, you probably won't need more than 2-3 shims.

I bypassed my switch by soldering the two wires together at the clutch lever. It's been like this for years, and haven't noticed any ill effects. I have an 03 (FI).

the problem is usually worn sloppy clutch perch, that should be replaced to fix the problem, its not like SV clutch perch & lever are expensive $40 for complete assembly

Here's a link to a Youtube video.
. Suddenly I can't find the thread that shows the dyno results. But this Youtube video shows the same thing. There is absolutely no effect above 3300 RPM. GSXR's, however, will lose about 500 RPM on top, as will TL's.
