Hi everyone,
A couple of months ago, I installed the Avon Distanzia on the front (120/70R17) and last week I installed a Shinko 705 on the rear (150/70R17). Links to the pics:

I already liked the ride of the Avon very much and today was my first day out on the Shinko out in the plains east of Denver on dry roads. At highway speeds, I do not feel any difference from street tires. When I drop down below 30 mph, I notice some slight nobby feel from the rear but I kinda like it. There is too much snow, ice and gravel up in the mountains so I will have to wait to see how the Shinko does on the twisties but I think it will do fine. My purpose in going dual purpose is to open up much more riding in Colorado with gravel and dirt roads. I realize my bike is not a trail bike but I think it will do fine on most roads.
I wish Shinko had the 705 for the front but no available size. The folks at Chaparral have the Shinko 705 for a very good price and were great to work with. The Shinko is so much cheaper than the Avon and appears to be solid. Will let you know how they work out.
Can't wait for warmer weather !!
