What is a good boot for the leg/ankle challenged? I'm 6'1" 173lb if that helps :p Thanks for any input. -Mac

Wow and I thought every single possible gear question has been asked but this is beyond my craziest gear nightmare dreams. Boots for people with skinny ankles!?!?!?!?!

I have very narrow feet. AAAA heels, too.

You're going to find that Euro brands will generally fit narrower than American brands. I have some Dainese and Sidi (Vertigo Corsa) boots. With the Sidis I need to wear 2 pairs of socks, depending on the thickness of the socks. I like the Corsa part of the Sidi Vertigos, it's a strap that goes over the top of the foot and cinches it down. It helps me keep my heels from slipping.

There's closeouts now on the Vertigo boots. The replacement is the Sidi Vortice. Otherwise, check out European brands for sure.

Usually tucking leathers into your boots will take care of any extra room in the boot.

Alpinestars run wide (which is why I use them)

I always liked these Bates classic boots ... but they were too narrow (and too skinny for my calfs)

Try them unless they are too retro for you ...

that's why boots are so loose around the top..isn't it? they all fit loose if you're not wearing leathers.

I am 5'11" 165lbs with what i would call skinny ankles and i have Sidi Vertigo boots that fit well

I'm 6' and 165lb, suffer from chickenlegitis. I have Gaerne Shockwaves and they fit my ankle just fine. Stuffing leathers into the boot makes them fit my calves just fine too.

Maybe ya'll should double up on your tube socks or get some Flash Dancer style leg warmers?? I mean really is this a major concern??

If you're okay with a smaller boot these should do just fine. The laces make them super comfy.

Prices range from $99-207 at Newenough. I have an Oxtar version of the first boot. Telling you, super comfortable like high top sneakers.

If you want a tall boot, take a look at the AGV Sport Sebring 2. It has speed laces on the inside that help it fit very nicely around the ankles and calves. They're fairly comfortable to wear for a few hours off the bike when they're broken in. Really good deals for these boots can be found on some forums and ebay.

Frye boots for skinny people. But they are not waterproof

I'd advise the 12R. The soles last for about a year of hard riding, but can be resoled and look as good as new. And just buy the American-made Frye, not the MX. No offense to Mexico.

White's boots for the not so skinny people. Semi-dress will work. Also not waterproof.

Sidi.

I have small ankles as well, and weak ones at that.

I'm inbetween a 41 and 42. I got the 42 because with thick socks they are a perfect fit. I can wear 2 thin pair in summer and get great ventilation.

A*'s fit pretty close but not as good.
