SV1000 fork tube interchangeability - Not a swap thread

I am planning to service my forks and replace seals at that time. There are scattered imperfections on fork tubes that in general may not spell well for seal life. I was searching for reasonably priced fork tubes only. I see tons of tubes available from Asia, unfortunately no direct listing for SV1000.
Does any of Suzuki fork tubes is close enough to fit SV1000? I am not talking assembly swap but 2006 SV1000 tube replacement only that retains remaining components.

I understand swap is a usual answer for questions like that here, but I do not have budget for GSXR swap at this time. I am planning to do it on my ZRX and SV has to wait for some time.

I don't think anything other than an SV1000 fork tube is going to work. The SV1000 uses an uncommon size, and factoring in other things like length and axle diameter makes it really unlikely.

However, you may still be able to use the old tubes even if they are not perfect. Take some extra fine steel wool and lightly buff the nicks and dings that you see. You don't have to make them disappear, the goal is to knock off the sharp edges and blend them into the surface. If you buff too much you'll go through the chrome.

Thing I hate most is going back to redo the job after I am done. If I can get new tubes for what sv650 (see above) tubes go I definitely want to replace old ones.

The 1000 uses 46mm fork tubes, very few other bikes use that size. Even if you find a 46mm fork tube from another bike the odds are that another critical dimension will be off.
I wish you luck, but if they don't have a specific SV1000 tube I think you'll be out of luck.

Also remember that K6 will take K5-8 forks only...K3-4 won't work for you. If you watch Ebay for a while some good forks might turn up, but I doubt someone is going to be willing to just sell you the tubes from their complete front end. If you end up needing to buy a complete front end, it's hard to not contemplate the GSXR swap for nearly the same money.

I am reluctant to buy used of eBay. Looks like 99 % of used stuff there is damaged (Good condition: badly bend but not broken :) )

Yes...I noticed that too.:) Most of the GSXR conversions happen because they damaged the stock forks and it seems that few people will take off a perfectly good set to do the upgrade...though it has happened. This makes me wonder where all the GSXR forks are coming from? Stolen bikes chopped up?

I think you can get stock tubes...but they're going to be expensive as they're pretty much SV1K specific. Might be a good idea to try the gently sanding down inperfection route and see how they work....if they still leak, then make a move to change them.

Tat knowledge man... crossreferencing seal kits and tube dimensions I think I have candidate zx-9r and zx-6r about year 2000. Kawi Tube is 13mm shorter which should be non issue. Pricewise that translates to 150 bucks delivered for China stuff or twice that for Italian.

Need a peer check on that one.

Thank you for the heads up on fitment. Description at webpage has 03 to 07 model years, I definitely will inquire with them before ordering.
Italian stuff is too expensive at almost 400 dollars from that website before shipping. At around 500 shipped price break I would consider fork swap.
I never before ordered from webike, I am not sure how it works with that free shipping above 500, does it apply to us orders or not. I do not need anything else for SV from them but I can use parts for another project. They have some interesting and well priced stuff, I've seen keihlin carb bowl gaskets for two bucks. Here those go for 14 bucks...
