So i have been dealing with this economy just as everyone else has. I have been looking for jobs. I had my one job for two years but lost it because i was no longer in college (work study program) so then i got one dish washing at a dinning hall which i lost because they had to make budget changes and i was not that important. So now i have been working with my bank over my loan for my SV. I lost my job about three weeks ago. I told the bank i was out looking for a new job and that i would do my best to keep the payments coming in (should have just saved but i was stupid. lesson learned). They said that what i was doing was fine. They said they didn't want to repo the bike because they knew they wouldn't get anything for it. So to my surprise i get a note on my door from a repo guy. I had the bike in the garage. I call him and he tells me he is an agent for my bank. I tell him i had talked to the bank and i was going to call them and find out what was going on. i tried calling the bank but the woman who deals with this **** is out like always. i got my dish washing job back this week (oh joy ) so i was going to talk to the bank when i had a day off. so this weekend the weather was in the 60's so i decide to go for a ride to my girl friend's place. i am there for three hours. i go to leave and the bike is gone  My heart sinks. Any one else who walks out to find their love missing from where you left it knows the feeling.

Anyways i am starting to calm down. I have to call them soon and i hope the woman is there. maybe i can still get my bike back. . .or i can hope

If not i am going to miss her. Then ill have to start saving for my next one

Well there is my rant. I hope not all were bored to death.

For now ill see what is happening and hope to have a good summer with two wheels under me

Worst. Feeling. Ever. (Well, when it comes down to material possessions, anyway).

That really sucks, and I really, really hope you get your bike back! If the bank really did tell you that, it should be relatively easy to work things out.

Emphasis on "relatively".

Does the bank record phone conversations by any chance? Some institutions do, just in case something like this happens.

That sucks man, really. They won't repo over one missed payment so I am sorry to hear about your long term financial troubles. My sister got her car repossessed recently because my idiot brother-in-law got fired for lying and now he can't find a new job. I know she had so many days to get it back, but it would cost her around $2000. They said she had to pay it off to get it. I imagine it was because she was 3-4 months back on payments and that was at least $1200 right there so the bank probably figured making her pay it off was the best route.

Are sure it was repo'd and not stolen? How would they know to find it at your girlfriend's place?

A few thing to clear up. I was almost four weeks behind payments. then it would be another month before i could pay anything because it takes four weeks for payroll to give me a paycheck. i wasn't that far behind.

My girlfriend lives on campus at OU. there are only a few motorcycle only lots. The bank knew i was going to school and working at OU so i am sure they told their thief uh. . .i mean repo guy to keep an eye out. he is like a part time repo guy only steals on the weekend. I had the fork lock engaged and in between an old honda cb and there was a few others and a scooter. Mine was the only one gone. Who knows. Maybe he didn't take it. i wont know until my bank opens tomorrow.

You might want to file a Police report just in case. You did say you had a note from the repo guy and talked to them so most likely they took it. It does sound a little odd to me because I know of a guy who hasn't paid on his bike in 6 months and hasn't even been contacted by the bank about repo. Just your late on payment notifications. 4 weeks just sounds way to quick to be taking your bike back. The whole situation sucks. Good Luck.

Repo guy took it. Their job is to "hunt" for their objectives. I am sorry to hear that your bike got the wrath of your financial situation. Do you own a car to get you around? If you are having a hard time with payments, maybe it is best to sell your bike once the dust settles. In these hard times, we all have to cut back and conserve. I hate to be a party pooper but this may be a reality check for all of us.

They dont repo vehicles for being 1 month late..... They hit your credit for a 1x30.....so it shows up on your credit report.

Repo contracts are generally put out for accounts beyond 90 days late....

Either the OP has lost count of how late he really is, or not being truthful....

Think of it this way..... I mail my payment, it gets lost in the mail...... I honestly wouldnt know until I get a letter from my bank, letting me know I missed a payment or I get my bank statement and show the check uncleared..... i WOULD NOT BE GETTING REPO letters after just 30 days.... Would not make sense....

I agree with Troy.

Also how did you finance a bike without having full coverage on it?
