Hey folks, just bought a 1st gen track bike and took apart the front fork to find that the PO drilled extra holes into the rods. Does anyone have an extra set of damper rods for sale? Or know where to find some?

The extra holes are part of the "cartridge emulator" mod. See if you can turn them upside down and have the emulators fall out, I can't remember off the top of my head if they are installed under or on top of the springs. Anyways, emulators are a popular mod for those looking for a more responsive front suspension. If you search "emulators" on this site you will pull up lots of information about them.

cartridge emulator valves sit under the springs on the damper rods. the rods must be drilled for their use. tightening the centre allen head screw increases compression dampening and fork oil weight is used to adjust rebound with some crossover affect on compression
