I don't want to buy anything with that kind of setup. I want to buy a thing with a function, not a subscription.

hmmm - trying to decide how to read this. Seems to me that even the tiniest of seeps would be a bad enough thing.I've seen a lot of complaints on the forum for oil leaks that are really the tiniest of seeps.
In the automotive world, an actual droplet needs to be forming for it to be covered under warranty. A seep is not enough.hmmm - trying to decide how to read this. Seems to me that even the tiniest of seeps would be a bad enough thing.
Are you implying that it is OK for a motorcycle to have an oil leak if it is small enough?
My other bike is more fun than my SV. The SV is a better machine though. It's good to have two.

I put over 80,000 miles on one of those. Only problem was the rectumfryer went bad. Good bikes.I just got a 5th gen VFR800 a month ago - been dailying that the last couple weeks and recently went back to the SV. I went from on the edge of selling, to very very likely selling - for my use case the VFR is so much better. My commute is basically all highway, and the VFR isn't too shabby in the twisties
Why did you sell (or do you still have it)? If you sold, was it just to experience other bikes (like the Duc you had)?I put over 80,000 miles on one of those. Only problem was the rectumfryer went bad. Good bikes.![]()
Compared to the SV650? May I ask why you say that?GSX-8S ... pretty useless for traveling
It was going on 20 yo and I had it almost the whole time. Decided it was time for something newer, time for a change. Why did you sell (or do you still have it)? If you sold, was it just to experience other bikes (like the Duc you had)?
Oh, @t.erIt was going on 20 yo and I had it almost the whole time. Decided it was time for something newer, time for a change.
Oh lord. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have a look!Oh, @t.er
I also lost the rear sprocket off the VFR, that big nut apparently unscrewed while riding and came off. Make sure that thing is torqued and "staked". I think this is uncommon and the mechanic that worked on it not long before that Effed up, but could not prove it.
The 3.7 gallon fuel capacity for one, the lack of wind protection for another. The cafe-racerish abbreviated tail section looks to be only minimally accommodative of soft bags, a tired styling clue IMO. I wish they had put that motor into something more useful, maybe someday they will.Compared to the SV650? May I ask why you say that?
CB600fI get it. You love your SV650. That's why you are here.
But if you were to get a different bike, which one would you pick, which is more fun than the SV650?
You found it, yes that was me. Give it a check, but don't worry too much about it. Think I spent about $600 on parts, mostly from a part out. Got it fixed though.Oh lord. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have a look!
Edit: Oh god! This was you! Jesus... will have a look this weekend
Lost rear sprocket whle riding.
How does this even happen? I was riding along, everything was going fine today, and then it wasn't. Felt like the bike jumped out of gear. I fiddled the shift lever and clutch, and only got rattles. I though maybe something let go in the trans or clutch. Coasted to a stop and found this. Called a...www.vfrdiscussion.com
Wtf? Sprocket fell off?You found it, yes that was me. Give it a check, but don't worry too much about it. Think I spent about $600 on parts, mostly from a part out. Got it fixed though.
