I made a bracket to mount mine but you may have to try a couple spots to find the "sweet" one. Seems that it picks up better if its mounted high on teh bike a pointed down a tad.

i try not to look at my lap timer. while riding. one more thing to distract me. so my sensor, cord and lap timer are all on the back of the bike.
+1... I generally don't look at it till after I get in the pits. Maybe during practice I'll glance down at it but definitely not during a race.

I actually find my lap timer quite useful during practice. When I try something different, line, braking point or suspension setting, I can tell if it helped my lap time or hurt it. Of course you have to be consistent to begin with, but it is instant feedback. During the race I have been known to leave it in the pits.
