Getting out my 2005 sv650 for the spring I first put it back together, as I had my tank off for the winter. When I first put the key in the ignition everything seemed to work fine, but it wouldn't start. I was overdue for a plug change, so I cranked it for a bit, but stopped and ordered some plugs.
The next time I put the key in (I couldn't resist trying again while waiting) the sound of the fuel pump priming was absent and the speedometer display failed to work.
The headlight still lights, and the starter will turn over the motor.
The fuses are fine.
Any ideas what could kill the pump and the display?
I fear that it will turn into a long disassembly / reassembly job that will eat away much of my riding season, and thought i would check for ideas.
Thanks in advance to anyone who read the above while giving it some thought.
Be well,
-Brian
