I was changing the oil and the right side of the bike was against the wall in my garage and I didn't see the normal oil fill plug, so I opened this Allen plug and put oil in there.

What is this plug and will this be an issue?

It's the timing inspection plug. It should be ok.

Hmmm, how did you know when the oil level was midway up the oil level window?

Well I read it should take like 2.3 qts so I was going to put that much in then check. But it's started overflowing so I went to look at the site glass and it was low then I saw the correct place to put the oil 🤦🏽‍♂️

I just want to make sure it won't mess anything up putting oil in the other

wont mess anything up, the case has access to the stator area
make sure you check the oil level with the bike UPRIGHT.
run the bike for a minute. turn it off for a minute. make the bike vertical. check level

if you changed the filter it's usually more like 2800ml of oil

Just one or two degrees off-upright will make the oil level on the window thingy look very different than what it really is.
