What goes bad on your old boots first?

As for me, my velcro goes bad first. I'm about to replace the velcro for the third time. I'll probably never wear out my soles first since I usually have a set of walking shoes waiting for me at my destination. I'm curious to hear how others have had their boots fail on them.

the waterproof membrane, 'cept (so far so good) on my Gore-Tex lined BMW Allrounds. i live and ride in vancouver, so the rain is the big challenge...
So far, it seems that the soles are going first on my B-2s, but then again anytime i go anywhere on the bike i don't carry other shoes with me.
the sole at the ball of the foot because the pegs on my bikes have aggressive knurling
the buckles one the side I always crash on (right boot).
the boot itself (crashing) my supertechs have a strap on the back so velcro is not a problem. You might want to look into gaerne (sp?) boots as well.

My feet
my boots just "wear out" kinda like a helmet, they become so loose fitting that I just need to buy new boots, sometimes some stiching gives way,

velcro on boots ?
toe sliders here!!
toes.

but thats cuz i wear 'em offroad :p
the toe sliders and then the boot where the toe sliders used to be
Mine get dusty and full of spyders,in the closet over 90° :)
I always end up seperating the rubber "sole" from the leather foot of the "boot". Then I have to use "shoe Goo" to glue the 2 back together again. My Joe Rocket's have been repaired 3-4 times this way. Had it with my Sidi's and A*'s too. Somethin about the way I walk/ride I guess....
Toe sliders! I get lazy with my toes and kill them.
