ANother thread got me thinking: How does one define happiness in their lives?
-career?
-having people that love you?
-having people you love?
-money?
-not giving a sh!t about much?
-a full fridge and a tank of gas ?

WHat makes you truly happy ? :dontknow:

Spending time with my son. Easy as that.

I'd love to be wealthy enough to not work another day in my life, even if my lifestyle was not lavish. I'd also be quite content if I had a nice plot of land with four walls on an adobe slab(animal collective, anyone?), and the means to produce enough food to feed my family.

Thats my dream, actually. Raise a bit of livestock, grow some delicious fruits and vegetables, sell the excess to cover taxes:)angry7:) and the few things I would have to purchase. :)

Oh yeah, of course, my motorcycle does add a bit of happiness, but I could be happy without it.

A small but comfortable house in the foothills, a workshop to tinker in, a few close friends to share some beers and conversation with as we watch our kids play in the yard, a really huge aquarium, and at least one more bike. That would be good.

Three things mainly...

Spending time with my daughter, especially when she laughs. It's such an innocent laugh.

Spending time with my girlfriend. There's just something about her that makes me feel at peace.

Spending time with any of my bikes: riding them or tinkering with them. Installing new parts, getting something running that has been long dead, etc.

Happiness is simply a state of mind. I truly believe that with practice a person can LEARN to be happy. I forget this sometimes, but there are many things to be "happy" about.

I'll tell you this, happiness is a little sparce right now...stupid economy/job/weather/etc...

But getting a ride in makes me smile for a little bit... Maybe I'll just keep riding and only stop for gas?
Kinda like Forrest Gump?

I can be happy as a clam with something as simple as play-doh.

But there are really only two things that can make me forget about anything that goes wrong in my life, riding and sex with my fiance.

Hookers and Blow. ;)

Alright.......spending time with my wife, and daughter, and my goofy dog. Riding my motorcycle. Tinkering on something (house, car, motorcycle, something), I enjoy my tools. Don't flame me....but I like golfing. Golfing should be so easy, hit a stupid ball with a stupid crooked stick. But it's not.

.......and Hookers and Blow. ;D

Not dreading going to work. I worked 17 years in a job I didn't like, until last summer. I love my new job so getting up and going is enjoyable not dreadful.

Watching my kids have successes brings me happiness too.

Enjoying what I do, whatever it is, and with whomever it is (if anybody). It can be something as simple as making and then eating a tasty dinner or something as complex as pursuing a dream. Some things are great to share with someone (or many), but being alone is also sometimes great, too.

Knowing that the people I care about are happy also makes me happy.
