I actually did this a couple weekends ago and wrote up on it in this thread http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=125253 but it looks like it would fit better here so if the mods want to delete the other is fine with me couldn't figure out how to do it myself:

This past weekend I gave some major attention to my K5svs and ran into challenges. First off listing the work done:

Total miles: 14,838
• Engine and Rear Sprocket Change
• Chain Replacement
• Oil Change 2.4L Valvoline 10w-40 synthetic with a Wix Oil Filter
• Headlight Adjustment
• All cables lubed
• Spark Plugs changed CR8E
• Clutch Adjustment with another great tool by RI Jon http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=73877
• Steve’s TRE
• TPS Adjustment

So here we go with some pics and links.
Everything before I started and don’t forget the Haynes manual:

To get started I found a really good walk through on changing the Sprockets and Chain found here: http://www.sv-portal.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25953

I used just about every tool he had listed except the 36 mm socket for the 650 is a 32mm socket shown here:

Thanks to these guys for answering the question posted here: http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=124522

I was planning more photos like the walk thru this guy had but the more I worked the dirtier my hands were getting so the photos went down please see the graph below:

With the chain replacement I used the stand I made from the $20 Swing arm Stand for the SV thread found here: http://www.svrider.com/tips/pipestand/SwingarmStand.htm

And you may need a friend to help put that wheel back on, thanks Eric.

So I been reading everyone’s comments on adjust the TPS and Steves TRE and finally took the bait and bought the TRE which by the way I’m very pleased with the design and how clean this piece was put together. The turn around was awesome as well, Steves TRE can be found here: http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=95450.
After adding the TRE and adjusting the TPS I do feel a noticeable difference. My line didn’t start moving until about 2800 RPM now I’m down to the 1500 mark. I feel there is a little more power in the lover gears and don’t really have the sluggish feel on take off. Idles at 1200 RPM. To make the adjustment follow this link here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=55459

Patent Pending tank prop, PM for price. Steve’s TRE Installed. Look at that nice design factory plug and all. I’m happy with the maintenance adjustments.....not mod!

After doing all the maintenance I was hoping to fix another problem I have been having and have searched the threads link below and still no luck. Riding with a smooth throttle this doesn’t happen but when I go WOT the bike bogs a little and then bucks some, sounds like one of the cylinders isn’t firing and then takes off. Happens about 6000 rpm. Then once I lay off the throttle the RPMs tank and the motor dies. From researching here I haven’t found any good advice on how to fix this problem. Any advise would be appreciated. I had this problem before the TRE. Links to other guys, everything they talk about sounds exactly like what I am experiencing.

To finish out the day I had some birds on the smoker. 3.5 hours to cook and once the bike was done we were ready to eat.

Now if I can get the WOT issued fixed.....

installed Racetech .90 kg/mm springs, emulators, and 15W fork oil, after making 2 tool runs, forgetting to replace the right damper rod bolt and losing half a pint of fork oil over my work bench, and having to wait until the next day to buy more oil.

Changed the oil and took her for a ride around new-to-me roads (just moved). Found a park within running distance and snapped a pic.

For a nice Sunday it was oddly vacant.

mtande2- Didn't your S come with a tank prop in the tail?

Just ordered a Vance & Hines CS One exhaust, stock dogbones, and kickstand!
The SV was lowered about an inch when I bought it and it just weirds me out being lowered...

I should have everything by next week so expect a new exhaust review!

Not today but last night I installed my Delkevic slip on. Nothing but smiles in to work this morning! Was out of Ultra Copper (of course didn't realize til I cut the stock off...) so will be sealing it up tonight!
