I finally got my frame sliders and bar end mirrors on. I got the Napoleon bar ends and had to introduce the brake lever to my dremel so my level movement wasn't comprised. I wanted a shorty lever anyway so that kind of worked out well.

With my CRG (Lanesplitter) I made **** sure the bar end sticks out further than the mirror does when it's popped in. Not by much, just enough so that when I catch it on the garage door or it gets knocked over AGAIN in a parking lot, the mirror doesn't touch down.

I had done a little custom work on mine, so I could have the CRG adapter and the stock bar end. Basically, from inboard out it goes bar, adapter and mirror, bar end. Still wasn't enough to save the mirror. Although it probably didn't help I had a death grip on the grab rail as it was falling. Now that I think about it, I really need to make sure the fairing didn't hit the ground. I don't think I'm strong enough for that to have happened, but with my luck, it probably did.

i don't think i've ridden mine since the ohio fall rally.

she's sittin under a cover and up on stands, hope the gas and battery are ok.

stoopit supermoto projects :p

Doin' a little dance! The engine is back in!!!!!!!!!!

Three shims replace...why not check the valve clearance while the engine is out. Only one out of spec and two right on the border. We're all in check again!!!

For those looking to do it.....looks like most of the shims needed where either 1.70 or 1.65, so buying the whole kit might not be necessary.

Found out that even if you "swap" them at the shop, they cost about $4-$4.50 plus the swap. SOunds like a rip off to me, but somehow I didn't have to pay. Might have been the sexy carpenter jeans I was wearing, or the dog fur covered flannel;)

Anyway...a few more days and she will be ready to fire up!

So what was the big problem with the motor??

Started to install a bubble fairing on the SV, but the garage is close to freezing, and yes I do have heater, 1' foot of new snow today so lots of garage work in the future...if the temp. rises a bit.

That my good friend.....remains a mystery even to me:dontknow:

Could definitely be a case for the ....O0.... undercover brotha! Wanna come up and take a look;)

I actually managed to get everything else back on except the tank and the rear wheel.

So, all new gaskets, new thermo stat, new radiator cover, all new O-rings, new oil seal and mechanic seal in the waterpump, valves have been checked and adjusted, new plugs....etc.

I guess by this weekend....I'll know if she's still having issues. Of course, she was running just fine before, so as long as I didn't mess up the timing on the cams (which I checked 3 times) I can't see it getting worse.

It's like licking a tootsy pop...we may never know;D

Well front end is still off until I fix project 3.

Eddiemon, yes I replaced the swingarm. I only have one set of spacers for 2 rear tires, forgot one once, damaged the swingarm. It's been buggin' so I replaced it.

What did I do to my SV today? I took it out for a 30 mile ride in the 11 degree michigan winter... hey, double-digits are better than the single ones!

I was warm enough (long underwear and flannel lined jeans, leather boots and gloves, four shirts and leather jacket, neoprene-half-face mask, scarf). Had to take a break halfway through to warm up my fingertips and toes though... maybe i should get some heated gear?

UPDATE:
The bike is back together!
BUT....not sure why there always seem to be a huge BUT in the mix

I can't get it to run for more then a few second....so I'm not sure if the oil and coolant are still mixing. I didn't get everything out of the center of the crank case, so I figured I'd run it for a while then change the oil out again. Looks like I'll be waiting a little longer...since now she doesn't run.

Changed the oil over the weekend. Ordered the correct rear wave rotor and new brake pads for the front. Also ordered the cool little resevoir bracket for front brake master cylinder from ebay. Hopefully it's not crap.
