Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

I was thinking of getting the fins under your sheet metal, so they would be in the air above your rear tire, but in looking at your picture cutting a hole and reverse mounting it would be difficult. Probably easier just to bolt it underneath.

Like I said, I don't know how much heat they produce or at what point they fail, but I did have one fail on me once, and it's definitely something to avoid. Maybe some of our more experienced/smarter than me (just about everyone) members can chime in.

You might actually want to post that picture in the modifications page and ask opinions.

Actually, if you can get a solid contact of that heat sink to that plate, the plate might transfer some of the heat just with air moving across the underside of the plate. otherwise, it wouldn't be too difficult to run a small duct back there- wouldn't take much. An inch in diameter probably.

Got the four necessary signatures to bring my bike on base, but the Capt that needs to give me a base access card wasn't in this afternoon, so it will have to wait till next week. Maybe I'll pull it out of storage for a short ride tomorrow.

installed a 14T front sprocket. then went for a super-wheelie-happy-fun-time ride.

i ordered from sprocketcenter.com last friday. i actually ordered an AFAM. they called me tuesday to say it was out of stock, but they had the Drive Systems brand. i said that was fine so they refunded me the difference of $6 and shipped it out that same day. it was in the mailbox when i got home today. so i'm very impressed with them and their customer service. nice people. i'll definitely order from them again when i need something else drive-train related. total cost for sprocket and shipping was $24.90, by the way. great deal for the performance gain i got.

I took off my mirrors and replaced them with bar ends. I used the existing screw for the bar end weights to have handlebars that don't vibrate and mirrors that I can see out of. No more shoulders...:)

also took off the horrid Targa front fairing that the PO had. Added some of Blair's frame and swing arm sliders. Super nice! And fixed my stuck brake light. :)
