Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
What did you do to your SV today? (mods, farkles, maintenance, etc)

still collecting parts, and sellin' the parts I can't use!!!! (on the wera board, `cause I don't have enough posts on here!)
took delivery of an `06 gsxr600 frontend, and wheel last week, and an f3 rear wheel, still sourcing parts and trying to find a sweet tail section for it, it's a track only racer, and or track day bike.
Red monkey ,will look great. Always amazes me to see someone take a nice bike, car, house or (insert item) apart to change it to something that better suits them, cheers! Ed
Stompgrips will give you almost 2 years if not over that before they start flapping in the wind from the front edge.
I am looking into purchasing a can of 3M adhesive to see if I can get another year or two from them.
When I did my research on Tech Spec, I heard the same complaints from some racers that I know. Since I already have the pedantic and anal shock rep, I just kept my mouth shut and shook my head and left the topic alone. Especially with the uber-defensive group buy group.
*shrugs*
Cons against Stompgrips ...
Make sure that tank paint is C L E A N with no wax residue on it. I did three ammonia washes and let it dry 24 hours for the second set to stick. The left side came off the first time. Now it is the right side and it is 3.5 years later.
Does wonders keeping the weight off my wrists and very light hands on the grips.
I read the manual. Took the wife and daughter out shopping (rainy day, so good timing) so I took the manual with me to learn some stuff, while parked in a coffee bar with nice furniture to sit on.
I picked up a 2006 SV naked yesterday (totally immaculate) and I need to brush up on the finer points like all of the warning lights, resettable trip odometers, chain slack and tire pressure info. Hopefully the 40% chance of rain won't mess up the day tomorrow, so I can go out and ride the new beauty.
Ordered a replacement rear brake line, because yea...it was too tight as someone stated and broke the banjo bolt off the rear caliper. So I've got a longer line and some other goodies coming next week.
Techspec offered to send me another set of tank pads so I'll give them another try. As most have stated, I too really like the extra grip. I just hope they don't slide off again. I can't say enough good things about their customer service though! Robbie was awesome via email.
I installed my Cogent shock. It was pretty easy. I just had to improvise a tool to hold the top mount nut, while loosening and tightening the bolt. A large flat-blade screwdriver stuck diagonally into a 3/8" drive socket worked nicely. I also had to run to the interweb to convert Nm to ft-lbs, since my torque wrench doesn't have a Nm scale.
Out with the old (the two are exactly the same length, just a bad perspective on the photo):
And in with the new:
Next up, the forks. I've also got Motrax turnsignals and dubtec2's FE waiting to go on.
Ordered a R6 throttle tube from Ron Ayre's and ordered Pro Grip 699 grips and a Kuryakyn Universal Throttle Boss from New Enough. Should get this stuff in a couple days and put them on.
Good call on the R6 tube. I did the mod a couple weeks back. Super easy and nice to have a little less twist to get WFO.
