I didn't think a crack would leak that much. Makes me have bad thoughts about the home team on this one.

Where are the freeze plugs on the SV?

They are in the heads....remember those black looking little circule "cups" in each head...there were two of them (in each). Those are the freeze plugs.

Nexus...thanks for the video. Strange because I have carbon build up in mine. I definitely don't have a clean cylinder. Looks like some mixture got in there though. Funny thing is that it's not mixed around the cylinder....nor was it mixed in the water pump or coolant system. There was actually some motor oil that looked fairly fresh and unmixed in the engine too.

I definitely cannot see any visible crack in the cylinder wall. I will double check tonight when I get home. Strange thing to remember is that she was running and sounding perfectly fine the day after overheating. Started up with new coolant etc. So where ever the leak is...I doubt that it's a huge one....because 30 minutes (or running) later when I drained her she still had coolant.

That gunk flakes off fairly easily. THis engine only has about 16K on it...with the oil changed every 1500, garage kept, and all maintenance don't as recommended.

Mine went from this to start:

In about 2 hours to this:

And a pile of parts on the trailer:

Since the miami game is a blow out, I might run back down and do the valve clearances and spark plug change. It needs some cleaning before I start re-assembling.

removed bent stock forks - inserted straight used forks.

wished USPS had a special service to deliver upper triples on Sunday, fantasized about having a garage.

Weather was awesome today, nearly 80 so I went out and took some new pics of Svet today.

She's so pretty standing out in the winter sun light!!

:)

Since it was a nice brisk 72F and sunny here in Bama I took a ride with a couple buddies of mine. For the first time I passed my friends CBR1100XX. Sure he was cruising at 60 and not paying attention to me till I shot by him. He preceded to reminded me how much faster he was by immediately closing the very large gap I made in a very small amount of time. Hey sometimes you got to pick on the bigger guys to keep them in check.

Yes. I live on the 3rd floor, no friggin way to get it up the stairwell.
LOL....I can only imagine someone trying.

I thought that my bike looked stripped down, but yours looks like the most naked S model I've ever seen;D

So how many bolts and washers did you have left over at the end? ;D
A bunch, but that was mainly because of how much of the bike was replaced with new parts or Ti bolts/nuts whatever. :)
