Washed the crud from sitting for a year, cleaned out the carbs and the gas tank, dumped in some new fuel and went for a short ride!

Installed a USB port for charging stuff. Used this product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L72UYAU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. First one was broken, seller sent a new one fast so I'm happy. Coupled it with a Rowe Electronics PDM60 (power distribution module): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00M9MRA14/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Very happy with the products so far (they work, not ridden with them yet). The grey wire in the photo that is not connected did get connected to the brake light so that the PDM60 comes on when the ignition is on, this way it's not drawing power all the time and the LED on the USB port doesn't draw power when the bike is off.

What preload adjusters are those?

Maiden voyage to work since I got her running! Ran like a champ. Couple minor bugs to work out but couldn't be happier

Installed longer cables and repositioned the wiring in prep for my bar swap.

I'm a bit worried about the clutch cable though (stock SVN) cause it has a 90° elbow rather than the shallower bend I was expecting.

I too installed a longer clutch cable off of a 2014
VStrom today. It was a little longer than I needed
so I ran it up by the airbox, then back down to the
transmission.

Old cable had the bend, new cable doesn't...

Before I had it running like the throttle cables. It was getting pinched...

I doubt I'd be able to soak up that much extra cable given I'm bar swapping an SVS. Looks like the stock SFV cable is closer to what I need though if the SVN cable doesn't work.

I did a handlebar swap last week on My 2003 sv650s from clipons to bikemaster superbike bars full width. I only needed to replace the front brake line and throttle cable. The stock svs clutch cable had enough slack and didn't have to be rerouted or have any guides removed.

BTW best mod I've done so far. I can ride much more aggressive and fluidly without any effort at all and ride for hours with no pain.

I think the cable has a different end on the clutch side.

I bet the older VStrom cable is just longer than the SV cable.

I think the cable ends changed styles in 2012. ???

The Vstrom cable was a good 5" inches longer, and I only

put on 1-7/8" bar risers. So really I could have used a cable

that was 2" longer... After snaking it around a few times, I

made it work for $12. :D

You're right on the different ends. The SVS has a pear shaped cable end and a locknut assembly on the bottom end. Thanks for the detail photos.

I'm gonna get my bike working with what I've bought already and see if I need to make any changes. First ones I can see possibly needing to be addressed are the clutch cable elbow and spending the extra money on custom +2.5 inch throttle cables. The +4s look to be super long.
