Yeah, fitting my Sigma bicycle computer (controversially enough, to a bicycle) really made me realise just how much total CRAP we put up with from motorbike stuff, superb little gadget with loads of options and came with spot on instructions and everything needed. And it can record maximum and average speed, which is cool enough that I'm tempted to get another one for the SV.

rode this crap out of it.had a blast, beautifull day out, high 60's low 70's, sun was out, lots of bikers out. rode my favorite little local road.

Did the same. Rode with a good friend, saw a ton of other guys on the road.

Vaughan: I know you are doing well without the speedometer, but you might want to look into hooking up a bicycle cyclometer. I've done it on a couple bikes. A little imagination, some zip-ties and maybe some JB Weld, and you are good to go. With the adjustments for wheel/tire circumference, you can get a small, dead-nuts on speedo for about $30 or so.
Eh, I manage a bicycle shop. I mounted a wireless speedo to the fork bottoms and I've got a a few magnet holders left that fit in the rotor buttons. I took it off as I really haven't had a need for it. I know how many miles I've been based on how often I fill up the tank.

I had read in another thread, or maybe earlier in this one, you were had transcended the whole speedometer thing. I just thought I would throw it out there. Gotta get the post count up, so people take me seriously;D

Today I went on the "Toy Ride" for LA foster kids, it was sunny but cold in CA.

Awesome Eddiemon!

We just had a "Toy Run" here is south africa...
The one in johannesburg had about 27 000 bikes!
Thousands of toys for charity.

I was involved in doing some marshalling (blocking off the highway, intersections etc.).
Saw quite a few SV's there :)

I looked at it with bits of snow on it as I hopped into my rolling bubble and headed off onto the sheet of ice that we are currently calling roads. I wanna put some ice spikes on it.

Nope, sold it. I'm just going to roll with the idiot lights. I'll reconnect the stock gauge plug so if I ever need to read error codes, I can just plug in a stock cluster(that I don't have either) and trouble shoot. I've ridden for ages with no speedo and a few months with no tach; the sound of the motor is all I need!

Also, added some custom dent and scratch work to my 'other bike.' I cleared the first one like a pro... then crashed into the second.

Is that a fixid gear?

Good eye. It's actually a single speed 29er. Has a cassette body so it will freewheel and disc brakes. I'm still thinking about building a rigid fixie mountain bike. Makes jumping so much more interesting.

On topic: crg brake lever for my 636 m/c just got here. Going to get installed tonight. yay

its def a fixed gear but not a 29, those wheels look pretty standard 26

gonna rebuild the rearsets today with replacement pegs a new shifty, make emm shine again.

I'm still neglecting my SV, just bought a used On One Scandal mtb frame, it's really a lightweight XC racer but it's rated for a 130mm fork which should make for a nice slack trail bike once I chuck my Tora SLs in. And it weighs nothing at all, 3.6lbs, that's more than the frame on my road bike ;D MORE SCANDIUM! MOOOOOORE! Need to get a lighter fork to match but that'll bide.

OK, so 27 gears is just daft (and they're about to go 10-speed!) but one is too few ;)

I took a cool shadow picture after my chilly ride in to work a couple days ago, so not actually today:

And I'm thinking about maybe giving it an xmas wash. It would be the first this year.

It's me in the picture and the bike is a 2008 Felt Nine Solo frame. For reference I'm 6'4" 250lb and that's a 21.5" 29er frame. The wheels are Industry Nine SS cassette hubs laced with their .110" aluminum spokes to a DT Swiss TK7.1D 700c rim. I run Maxxis Ardent 29x2.25 tires. I'm pretty sure it's not a fixie--My knees would know. ;D

Northwind, that's about the same weight as my frame. Built up it should make a great trail bike! If you need any parts and I can help let me know (I manage a bike shop if it hasn't been said before). Are you building with Shimano or SRAM?
