Took off bent handlebars and shifter. Waiting for parts and new top box from JCW.

 

Got my front stand today, put it together but the weather is too nice to remove the tire, will ride bike - do tire monday.

 

Finally got around to pulling my carbs off for a full on cleaning session. Didn't rejet just yet but maybe before summer.

Not bad looking bowls for an 02 with 49k on the ODO.

 

installed my cortech saddle bags! i dig 'em!

 

Put in some more work on shaping the plug for the seat cowl I'm working on, then went for a ride to buy some Bondo. Fun times ahead.

Nexus sprung a leak, but the new gasket came in today.

So, it looks like he'll be getting his fifth lube job this month, and maybe even a TPS adjustment.

Rode bike to get lunch and lotto tickets, had to try out the front stand on the bike.

bled the brakes for the umpteenth time

 

Flattened the battery, again Left it switched on overnight. Then, plugged it in to charge forgetting that the accessory plug I fitted is currently ignition switched, so it failed to charge. Ah well.

 

Went for a ride and made my biggest riding mistake yet. I'm by no means an aggressive rider w/lean angles, speed etc, and I'm well aware that my limits are quite a ways below the bike's limits. Anyways, came into a downhill, decreasing radius, off-camber turn a bit too fast and had a moment of target fixation. It all worked out fine, in that I just used the oncoming lane (no traffic) and got back on course, but dam n I was pi$$ed at myself after that.

 

Pulled the front and rear wheels. Pulled the front left fork tube. Tomorrow I'll have Road Attacks mounted, and install the new sonic springs in both sides.

pulled the clutch cable, throttle/cable/kill switch assembly and whats left of the seat after a dog chewed all the foam off and damaged the plug to the kill switch , to get them cleaned and loob'd and ready to go back on when my motor is finished.

 

Took it and my CBR600 over to my sponsor's shop to take some team photos. That's after spending the past few evenings patching and repainting the tail section that got messed up when I crashed in practice during the last round of '08. It had to look somewhat decent.

I had gotten it raceable that weekend but since forgotten that some things needed replacing. So now I'm looking for an OEM SVS windscreen and may have located a new OEM rearset. I should probably get another right clipon too.

 

Cleaned and lubed chain, going for a local ride Sunday meeting one of my ocmoto.com friends at the HB doughnut shop. He just bought a condo in Sunset Beach, we'll cruise over there then maybe cruise to Live Oak. We'll pass by where the Tap-Out guy crashed his Ferrari, should see the tire marks - don't know if you guys saw that on the news.

 

Met my friend at the HB doughnut shop this morning, saw another ocmoto guy there also, rode to see the condo he is moving into at Sunset Beach.

Then we rode to Santiago Canyon and Live Oak Canyon, saw where the tap out crash was on the way. My friend headed to the 55 Fwy and I went back the way we came, passed the crash site again and I u-turned around and went by it one more time. It happened on Jamboree just south of University - the road starts going uphill and turns right. From the skids marks on the road it looks like he missed the turn, spun out then hit the light pole. There was no stopping there so I could not get any pics.

 

Put top triple, headlight and gauge pod back on.

Rode it for 2 hours.

Lubed chain. Changed oil & filter. Drained some oil out because I apparently can't count and I overfilled it a bit.

 

Nothing yet, but I will be going to the paint shop tonight to help the painter with the marbilizing process. Will take progress photos and have a few beers. If I am lucky the parts will be done tomorrow night.
