Weather was nice today and I got to out for a bit. I really like not having to bend my wrist so far. I was a bit worried that the throttle would be too sensitive but I did not find that to be the case. Now I just need to adjust the throttle free play and I'll be set. (Free play was more than I liked with the stock tube, I don't believe the new tube affected this at all.)

Oh and to actually answer your question, about $80. Which is way more than an r6 tube, but to me it was worth it to not have to modify the tube, and peace of mind, YMMV.
How's it riding. I would assume crazy feeling blipping the throttle in 1st/2nd gear turns. 2gear+ I would amazing feeling huh?

surprisingly enough, its not as big of a change as i was expecting. i got it to avoid the bent wrist / readjusting grip issue with the stock throttle tube. honestly if i had gotten it for "performance" of a faster throttle i'd be disappointed. Now it just feels like it shouldve been from the factory.

Ive been busy and havent had a chance to adjust the free-play and get back out on it yet, but i have a feeling I'm really going to love it then.

Nice thanks a lot man for the reply :)

Picked up a Motion Pro “SyncPro” manometer, some OEM vacuum nipple caps, and then synced my throttle bodies. It took a little while to figure out the best way to get to the vacuum caps, but other than that, it was a simple process.

My SV now has 20K miles and this was the first TB sync…and it needed it. Throttle response and low-end smoothness is now noticeably better. I adjusted the valves last week (first time). All were in spec, but some just barely. I replaced 5 shims to get all the valves in the middle of spec.

I honestly can’t imagine a bike running any better than my SV!

Ahhh the famous green connector smh. Piece of crap smh.
Never heard about any issue with this, what's the low down?

On mine, looks like the wire on the ignition side was ripped apart based on how it was frayed. Apparently the fix was to cit the harness side and then splice them together with the jumper. Now I have to figure out how to get the harness side back together since I will be adding a Woodcraft keyless ignition module.

Search green connector. I ended up hard wiring direct all 4 wires. It's a crappy Suzuki thing smh. Basically cuts out and lose all power unless fixed it.

Since I'm too new to post pictures...

I have a blue 2001 naked. Previous owner did some damage (all cosmetic). Been pulling off the parts that need replaced here and there. Today I pulled off the headlight (big task I know). That's the last of it before I start the process of getting new parts and getting it back on the road though.

Adding a little night time visibility to the top box today. Hey, it's already a big ugly box, may as well make it more visible, right?

I added some 3M SOLAS tape to my top box.
(Left over from my helmet)

A little more subtle. :eek:ccasion14:

Yeah, my cheap box doesn't allow for "subtle"...

I like yours!

Thanks! I like it better with the side bags
on, but needed to remove them to get the
Jeep to fit in to the garage. Once the front
touches the mirror I have just enough room
to close the door.

I fitted my new Fuel Diablo slip-on tonight, along with the set of already-cut pipes I bought from EBay.

What a ****-storm that turned into!

Rung both header bolts on the front cylinder trying to get the pipe off. Made several attempts to remove the seized bits by welding nuts onto the protruding treads with no joy whatsoever.

Finally had to drill the studs and remove the remaining bits of bolts by running a tap into the holes. A horrible job, especially if the tap breaks!

Once the holes were cleaned out I fitted two studs to the head with some stud-lock and used brass nuts to secure the front pipe once the rest of the cut system was in place. Then it was just a quick job to finally fit the Diablo along with the new hanger. That alteration now condemns both pillion pegs to the spares box.

And it was totally worth all the aggro!

The bikes sounds great with the baffle fitted.

It sounds like cannon-fire with the baffle removed!

I'll get a clip of it as soon as I find my camera.

First sunny day in a while and free time collide! So went out to go for a ride!

Bike will not start!

Hoping it is a dead battery from sitting to long and user error in leaving the USB charger connected!

Edit:

Dead battery. Whew! Charged it up and started on the first try!

Since I'm too lazy to go get my phone off the charger, I'll try and update this with a pic later.

As of now the bike is stripped of headlight/plastics/tank/front fender/radiator/carbs. I'm not doing anything today as I need to way for $ to order some parts.

Since some things are outside of my skillset, other people are doing things to my SV this weekend. Mostly fixing the dented tank and front fender along with a fresh coat of paint on them (tail pieces will follow shortly). New color is a purpleish blue. I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Since I don't have a high enough post count, I guess you will have to imagine a stripped blue 2001 SV650. Dangling wires EVERYWHERE!

Painted it. Tank sprung a leak from a bad repair previous owner did and after seeing inside with a camera I bought a super clean tank with no damage. Color was wrong so instead of painting it factory color I decided to paint the tank and the plastics a different color. It is still up at the shop curing, I will probably bring the parts home Monday or Tuesday and reassemble the bike, but here is a little teaser of the color I chose.
