Decided not to ride today: (three hours ago)

They might have been having fun:

Re-installed the auto-tune module and promptly dropped the cap for the posi-lock wire tap. Stupid thing pulled a Houdini. So now, unless someone has a cap laying around, I get to buy a whole pack so I can steal one, single cap.

Yesterday in rush hour traffic exceeded 40k miles. Apart from a steering head bearing, nothing but regular maintenance, tires, and chain/sprockets.

I got things ready to go get it inspected. Wish me luck!

(Texas inspection stations can sometimes make up their own laws....)

I just finished up a relay controlled power distribution block. It's fused. I mounted the block on top of the airbox. I am currently running the heated vest, heated grips, GPS and radar detector off of it. It's much nicer that running all that to the battery!

I also ordered a set of gen2 intake cams for the cam swap I'll do next spring.

I keep trying to sell but with 40 K miles on it and a fairly rough appearance it is worth nothing. Every time I ride it though, I realize it's the perfect motorcycle for me. I've owned it for over 8 years now.

Can you PM me the details on how you did yours? I want to try this sooner or later but want a solid base to work off of.

I, myself, replaced the PosiTap I lost the cap for so the auto tune is cleanly wired in again.

I also made a template to use when I have the exhaust shop weld in the larger O2 Bung.

Lastly, because this is the first time I've had access to them, I checked the infamous green plug and it's buddies. I'm happy to report that greeny is very healthy, yeller had the very beginnings of corrosion, and the black one was the worst off with some noticeable, light corrosion. So I treated them all to a swabbing with some carb cleaner, gooped on some dielectric grease, and put em to bed.

I'm still waiting on a friend to come over and help me change my tires (and for the snow to thaw), so I drew a little radiator guard in SolidWorks. If anyone wants to machine one, let me know. I can create a drawing for you. I still need to get the correct spacing for the mounting holes. This one's kind of basic, but I planned on putting somehting like it on my bike. Might change the text on it. Any opinions?

I might model a few parts later and try to have some of my friends in the MET department machine them. For some reason, the university doesn't trust us engineers alone in the machine shop.
