Rode it back to the grocery store. It was hot as hell so I didn't wear my jacket (for the first time in years). I was super careful, though...just couldn't bring myself to wear a jacket. It felt great riding in a t-shirt. I can see why other guys do it all the time. I promise I won't make a habit of it.

^^
Sometimes I'm jealous of people who can jump on and ride with no gear, then I remember how much even minor road rash sucks. Know the feeling though.

I went adventure commuting with mine today. Tried to take a favorite twisty to work, only to learn that it isn't totally paved anymore since the flood. It was kind of fun in it's own, slightly terrifying way.

I know first hand. And trust me, I was terrified. I kept thinking, "Anything can happen". Luckily it didn't. I'm usually of the "I'd rather sweat than bleed" school, but this morning I'd just gotten out of the shower, it was already pushing 90-plus, and I figured this once would be OK. Yes, I know, famous last words.

This afternoon while my kiddo was napping, I replaced my speedometer sensor magnet, made some adjustments on the newly installed Competition Werkes fender eliminator/tail plastics, mounted my license plate and wired the license plate light, then installed new aftermarket brake and clutch levers since the previous clutch lever stopped activating the clutch switch and I broke the brake lever by dropping the bike in the driveway a year ago.
I'll be more careful installing the front wheel from now on. Below is a comparison pic of the old and new magnets.

Eh, find me a motorcyclist who has never done something a little dumb/dangerous, and I'll find you a lying motorcyclist.

Going to change the oil - do a once over on everything and get new tires mounted for the race weekend.

Cleaned and lubed the chain, rode to Socal Motorcycles to pick up my fork bolt washers, and stopped at The Hat for a BBQ Beef sandwich.

I checked your pressures and then pulled it out of the garage and hit it with some rubbing compound and wax to shine the paint up again. I had my 2-1/2 year old little boy helping me and he loved it!

installed my shorty levers and went for a ride! also tried to do a handle bar flip. thought it might work since i have risers on, but alas my thumbs would go smoosh on the tank, at full lock :'(

then while riding i noticed this.... guess its time for a new rear. with this being my first street bike and all, i am not sure whats out there that is good or not. so feel free to throw some names of some good street tires at me.

Michelin PR3 or PR4 are the best tires out there for everyday riding, bar none. Excellent longevity, wet-weather performance, and enough grip to drag your knee.

For me, I didn't do much. I fixed my rear brake fluid reservoir that I ****** up when I was bleeding the system last week. I didn't quite get the diaphragm back into the right place, so it's been letting air into the system and spilling brake fluid all over my subframe. I also tested out my new Power 2CT front. Changing from 60 to 70 aspect ratio was weird for a few minutes, but it felt right at home on the twisties. And *******, it's got some grip!

Edit- and is it just me, or is your chain rusty?

I've been partial to the Michelin's as well. I currently have a pilot road 3 up front and a 2ct on the back. Stock Dunlops were garbage. My second tires were the old Michelin Pilot sports that grows great but only got 2k miles out of the rear. I then got a set of Pirelli Diablo Stradas that were ok but the back would occasionally break loose coming out of turns. I stick with Michelin now since I get decent mileage out of the newer dual compounds and they grip well.

What sort of mileage have you been getting out of the 2ct rear? I'm considering changing out my PR3 rear for the 2ct whenever it finally bites the dust, but will hold off if it has terrible longevity.

As I understand it, the PR series has better longevity than the Power.

Yeah, the Pilot Roads definitely get better mileage. I've got about 4k on my rear now, and it's just now really starting to look worn. But if it's only an improvement of a couple thousand miles, I'd be more than willing to sacrifice it for the better grip of the Pilot Powers.

Hit 20,000 miles on the way to work this morning. 13,500 of them mine since June 4, 2013.
