Turned it into the fastestest of all SV's... even faster than Onecartel's silly bike :p

my buddy popped a motor on his track bike (noob forgot to check the oil and burned it all out...) a few weeks ago. in order to fix this, i kicked off another partout

over the last couple days (and finishing today):
monday bought a decent shape street 1st gen sv650. already sold tank, forks, calipers/master (so almost broke even including the motor sale to my friend)

pulled the burned out motor out of it and my buddy's track sv650
installed the motor from the street bike into the tracky
today I have to finish up all the routing, carbs, electrical, radiator etc. refill fluids and test ride (should be interesting since not even close to street legal...). hoping everything goes fairly smooth. the only snag i see right now is the exhaust header bolts are fuuuuuuukt so i will at best need to chase the threads, or at worst need to buy a couple new ones.

on the upside i have another partout project as well :) and it has almost paid itself off already

I rode it to the grocery store for my weekly shopping. I had to go early since it's supposed to be hot as hell today.

I changed my own oil for the first time. Till now it has always went to the shop because I received free oil changes. :)
Welcome to the real world ;)

Drove my pickup an hour and a half (~250km round trip) to the dealer in Wpg and picked up some parts for the SV (also did some shopping and watched "Guardians of the Galaxy"). Then I could finally replace my messed up clutch rod and seal, and put my new front sprocket and chain on. Put new spark plugs in, then hooked the fan and rad back up. Noticed one of the throttle cables was loose where it attaches to the carbs, so I adjusted it. Put the battery in and the tank back on and hooked everything up. Fired the bike up for the first time in like a month and it sounds so pretty :) . Gave it a couple shots of carb cleaner for good measure.

Still needs the plastics and seat put back on, an oil change, and the chain adjusted and possibly a link removed.

Only thing I need to get before it is roadworthy is another clip for the master link... because mine disappeared somewhere between here and 1000 miles from here. Which could have been bad, but I got lucky and it wasn't. Definitely going to get a riveting kit when I can afford it.

Buffed my windscreen to make it shinney and clear as I'm too cheap to buy a new one.

Free beer

I belong to several forums and wish there was a way to send cold free beer to someone who solved my issue - kind of like a flower delivery service. Maybe we could petition pizza hut to do this as they are losing market share.

Maybe somebody could move this post as I have not figured how to start a new post from tapatalk
