Where did you find the bolt?

Thanks for the replies. I found the bolt in my bolt bowl. When I work on the SV, I put all of the hardware into that.

The radiator cover and rearsets bolts are all there. The seat bolts and seat cover bolts are also all there. I think its an aesthetic bolt for the front headlight cowl or something.

If you have any more guesses, keep em comin

It's that secret bolt that keeps the motor, frame and swing arm together. Don't worry much about it

I used to do that, but I kept ending up with extra hardware. Now, when I remove a part, the nuts and bolts that held it on go with it or back into the studs/holes they came from. It's rare for me to end up with spare hardware now.

I'm guessing it's a tank bolt or a side cover bolt and you have one of the shorter cowl/fairing bolts in its place--probably in one of the side covers.

Headlight brackets

I have checked the bolts in both the tank and seat cover areas. They look like they belong there. I have also checked the front headlight area. I'm pretty sure it's nothing too important (hoping)

Installed Race Tech .90 Springs and emulators, with 20wt oil. Drilled 2 new holes in each damper rod instead of enlarging the existing holes.

Installed the new license plate bracket, and taped the license light into place until more parts arrive... (LED License Light Bolts, Turn Signals.)

I moved her backward about a foot to give the tires some relief from flat-spotting in one place. There's so much salt on the road that I'm reluctant to take her out for a ride.

Trimmed the undertray to accommodate the Penske shock reservoir hose and exhaust mount bracket. Balanced the carbs and installed new windshield bolts n rubbers. Hoping to see my gsxr rear wheel kit and head bearing show up so I can finish the bike and get out to the track.

Oh and the street bike got the morning dew wiped off and ridden today

Installed new rear turn signals and license tag light bolts. All lit up now!

New Matris steering stabilizer

Tried to hold it as it helplessly fell over on a very steep gravel driveway...

No dammage though, only a scuffed shift lever, but I'm pretty sure it was already like that. At least now I know my frame sliders, swing arm spools and bar ends can hold the bike on the on it's side with no pretty parts touching the ground.

Finished solving my clearance problems.




And since the blinkers have real bulbs in them, they actually are bright.

I was working on my 05 sv650 a few weeks ago.

I found this bolt today.

The tank bolts are in. The bolts that hold the side plastic piece is also on. The front fender bolt is also on.

Anyone can guess where this bolt goes to?

Looks like an M6x25, did you used to have fairings?

Installed my Ohlins SU606 and Yosh exhaust a few days ago. Rode today to the suspension shop who twiddled with my knobs.

Its a whole new bike! I'm in love again with my SV.

Can't wait until next Friday where the the motion pro revolver kit and K&N air filter goes in with the PCV AND she get some loving on the dyno. :rock:

I fired it up and let it run for about ten mins. After I had to use a blow dryer to thaw out the ignition switch due to this crazy weather here in Florida. Its almost 11pm and its 20 degrees and icy roads. Everyone is freaking out down here but I think its funny ...
