If you value your safety, you are going to want to mount better turn signals, from what I've read here concerning the HotBodies.

It's a mototeck under tail I got it on eBay as an open box item. The signals are much brighter then hotbodys.

I went out, rubbed his tank a little, and said sorry that I cannot ride him today as it is cold as hell......
I think he understood cuz the day it gets warmer I will take him out for a nice ride. ;D

Had some time this afternoon to work on mounting the GSXR damper.
Decided to make mounting brackets for it rather than waiting to buy some. I decided to make them out of some 3/16" stock that I had, and to make the frame bracket in U shape that sort of wrapped around the front of the frame where the mounts usually go.
Anyway, here's some ****ty cell phone pics
as usual I started with a cardboard template cut from a cereal box

Then transfered the shape to the steel, cut it out, and bent it to shape. It ended up a little wider than I meant it to, so a washer in each side took up the space.

Everything has clearance, apart from the left side (looking at it head on) touching the bottom of the head lights while turning to the left, so I just need to make up a different fork mount bracket to adjust the angle of it a little, then I'll clean them up and paint.

It's tucked away and not very noticeable once the headlights are back on.

Not exactly "to" just yet... Ordered a set of RaceTech .90 Kg springs and emulators with oil. Went to the Long Beach international motorcycle Show a couple weekends back, and the folks at the RaceTech booth said to call for a $50 discount on the package.

So, when the IMS comes to your neighborhood, be sure to stop by their booth! :D

Finally made some time to check the valves for the first time at 32k miles :) all right in the middle of the spec range.   Also cleaned and lubed the chain and sprockets, cleaned and lubed the clutch lever, actuator, cable, and perch. Cleaned and oiled the K&N air filter and changed the oil and oil filter with some fresh T6. I guess I tightened the oil filter a bit too much last time because I had to mangle the fugg out of it with my giant channel locks to get it loose. Oh...and I put a fresh crush washer on the oil plug. Busy afternoon with the street bike. :)

Got my triples powder coated and started playing with my Borka headlight set up.

I'm going to use a cheap chinese headlight I gutted to dress up the lights a little. Planing on having it tilted further forward to sit nicely with the stock speedo.

I installed a set of Factory Pro velocity stacks during lunch at work today. Also did a PAIR block off while I was at it. I'll have to wait till the ride home to see if it made any difference.

Did you go with the Short/Tall or both Short stacks? Curious to find out how you like them.
Both short, I really didn't notice any difference but then again it's only a 10 mile commute home through the middle of town. I didn't get it above 8,000 rpm. If the weather cooperates in the next couple weeks, I'll wring it out on some backroads and report back. I did notice a big difference from the pair valve blockoff, WAY less crackling and popping on decel, (I have a shortened Yosh slip-on)

A few days ago I finally got to figuring out where my coolant drip was coming from, the short hose between the thermostat and the rear cylinder on the thermostat side. I rotated and tightened the clamp so it'd be easier to get to in the future, and the drip stopped. Then today I noticed another drip, this time from the other end of the hose. I tightened it up and went for a test ride and now it's all good.

Sat down with this...

And emptied these...

Only niggle I ran into was that my book quoted 4 different letters. The letter markings on the cams were the same, front and back. Very confusing at first.

Took mine for a shakedown ride after having a new engine put in it (old one decided to leak all its oil and die), and it started to overheat.

Noticed the fan wasn't on even with temps around 240. Tested the switch; it was bad. This, and the coolant was low. Went for another ride and it never got above 190. So, I should be good until a new switch can be ordered.

Next time a dealership does anything to my bike, I'm checking EVERYTHING. I even had to readjust the shifter, because they had it set too high.

Did a compression test on the 650. Approx 215 rear 220 front
Statted putting the carbs back together after cleaning but ran out of time.when i finish that, ill be able to fully test the engine and decide what my course of action should be for this bike
