Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

I saw the thread about steering dampers last week and decided to try it.

http://forum.svrider.com/showthread.php?t=93527&highlight=steering+damper

Got a 05-06 GSXR stock damper locally and bought one of the fork clamps shown in the thread, but the seller's being a weasel about the sale (selling stuff he doesn't physically have). So after almost 2 weeks of waiting, I decided that I'd make my own fork bracket. I figure I can rig something up to the lower triple. Here are some pics:

It's nice to have a whole bunch of assorted scrap stainless stuff at my disposal (angles, sheets, etc).

I'm making good use this rainy weather.

2006 SV650S (with full fairing)

- removed damaged lower fairing (so uh... no more full fairing :p)
- removed stock damaged frame sliders (don't wait to replace them, they're junk, particularly the curved bracket design)
- disassembled the rear cowl
- disconnected all tail lights and turn signals
- removed brake light
- sawed the rear mudguard off
- removed stock rearsets

- installed Woodcraft frame sliders
- installed Woodcraft rearset brackets, realized I needed to shorten the rear brake reservoir hose to properly mount the rear master cylinder, also needed Loctite for the screws on the new Woodcraft pedals and a 3mm (?) allen wrench for the front cowl, so I called it a day

Set out the snake skins and heated grips that I STILL haven't installed. Thought about putting them on.
Stepped outside into the 60 degree weather.
Decided to put them away and take her for a spin!

Anyone have a tank bra over their snake skins? I prefer the look for the bra, but want the skins for the track.

I made a beautiful naked first gen guage set out of two completely jacked up ones. Tested it on my wifes SV to make sure it was all happy, and then put it in the garage cabinet. It is awaiting installation in the SV I am putting together from two completely jacked up ones!
Gonna be sweet, then the "parts" bike will eventually end up being built up as a track only beast.

Put in .9 Sonic Springs with 20 weight oil. Put in new spark plugs. Managed to break one of the radiator mounting bolts that connec the radiator to the frame, so it looks like I'll have to take the radiator all the way off, get the bolt out, and replace. Also added some washers to the Givi rack so it stops rubbing on the tail pieces (which will be repaired at a much later date).

Waiting on Galfer lines to show up at my door so they can go on with new bleeder screws.

friday i went into work and picked up my new zero gravity dark smoke windscreen. had other stuff to buy too but didn't have enough money! haha. got a vortex front reservoir cap to go on, and i thought the other one i ordered would be for the rear reservoir but nope, it's way too big.

Well not as big of mod as everyone else, but I put some Sylvania Xtrasion's on and surprisingly not to impressed. Looks the same.
Only good part is I took my hole front end apart (top half only) just for the fun of it.
I might go get the Silverstar's or Ultra. I dunno

picked up my pro-tek reservoir caps today. the front round one looks sweet. the one that i thought would be for the rear is not the correct size. can't return it. if anyone needs a blue anodized pro-tek rectangle reservoir cap i got one, i'd take $15.
