Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
Yesterday, I put on one of those nifty heat shields, I had seen on some of the other member's bikes.

If anyone else is as clueless as I was about where to get them, CBXman, seems to be the place. The price was pretty good, and it showed up in two days.

I also unplugged the battery tender. I'm leaving today for three weeks, and although I'm 99.99999% sure that there wouldn't be a problem if I left it plugged in, I just didn't want that last 0.00001% muddling about in my brain.
I attempted to change the oil in the newish SV that I bought before Xmas. One mangled filter and a sliced up thumb on Mr. tlc later and the filter is STILL on the bike. :angry7:
I just use a constricter belt type... I stole the one my mom used to use in the kitchen for jars and it worked well.... somehow it never made it back to the kitchen... ;D but she always had a couple anyway ... I still keep one handy today years laterWOW! Dude must have over tighted it when putting it on!
Try an auto parts store I am not sure if Lowe's or Home Depot would have the strap style filter wrench's.
Good luck if you have a mind set like I do I get super pi$$ed when simple sh1t turns difficult!
Sears should have a $8 strap wrench like this. I have the same one and it has worked for years. I use a K&N filter on the bike though.
