Mine has gotten up to 215 F before but it was like 110 F and I was sitting at a light after a sprited run through a windy road. That was hot to me but a guy i work with says his R1 runs at 215 F much of the time. I usually see between 180 and 195 over 205 IMO is hot.
I have seen 220F many times and have had no adverse effects, sitting in traffic will do it every time. Fan comes on and all is well with the world.
Cool.
Thanks, guys.

Checked the front brake pads. One was shot. The side opposite the caliper pistons was the one that was worn out. I guess the sliding assembly wasn't sliding as well as it should. I greased up the slide assembly and it loosened up a little.

I ordered some Vesrah pads off ebay; $91.84 delivered. Can't wait to get them installed.

Picked up a bunch of stuff for an oil change and coolant flush, will be my first attempt at it myself.

Nice! Keep in mind when you remove the coolant drain plug for the first time it will shoot out farther than you will probably anticipate... Not that I've ever overshot my drain pan every single time I drain the coolant or anything... :lmao:

Haha I have read about that, but thanks for the tip.

Over the weekend I changed the oil, changed the plugs, drained the coolant, cleaned the air filter. Sounds pretty boring right?

Then I made the mistake of trying to remove the thermo switch and stripped the switch as well as the housing. Got some JB Weld and put it back on. Gonna test it today :(

Going to replace the battery this weekend and clean the chain.

looked at it longingly when I left for class this morning. It was absolutely beautiful yesterday, sunny and 65 degrees. Today its about 43 :disappointed:.... and of course I gave her a bath yesterday too and she looks better then when I bought it.

Rode to work....but on the way had to stop for a repair. I have my stock speedo rigged up with zip ties...i know it's ghetto but my vapor trail tech is on the way. Had to buy some small rope form the country store in green valley and tie it up. Kinda spoiled the mood but it was nice to be out for a ride.

Installed factory pro velocity stacks just to see how they are without any tuning. Later I'll install a PCIII and do some dyno runs. Also cleaned and oiled the K&N air filter. Tomorrow I'll test the stacks and post my impressions.

Tried to ride it and came the the realization that this battery is probably just about shot after I couldn't get it to start this morning.
