I admit to being a sissy to cold...that's why I moved from Michigan and after moving my way down the east coast (Pennsylvania, Maryland, North/South Carolinas) I settled in Florida.

I may not like the cold...but I still ride in it ;)

I did find a bruise on my spine from the weight of my backpack ontop of my jacket's back plate. The pack got heavy after I had to shed those layers during the day.

Tomorrow I ride to GatorNationals! This vacation is proving to be one of the best in many years!

48F... that is cold?? Damn.. there are a lot of poooozie riders out there...

I wish it was that warm here right now... I ride to work in -15c (or 5F) if the roads are clear of ice and snow... all it takes is another layer under a windproof jacket and some decent gloves... hell I have shiddy winter cattle roping gloves which are little more than thinsulate lined leather gloves... my good gloves are summer vented so suck in the cold... Still waiting for the cortech winter scarabs to go on sale for less than $90 again... damn I should have got them at $60

I never understand how americans can whine about it being too cold when it isn't even close to freezing temps... even the Brits ride in colder temps.. I hate the cold, but come on, a polar fleece sweater under a windproof jacket is plenty warm enough unless you ride for more than 40 minutes at a time in sub freezing temps...
Your penis must be huge.

Not today, but last weekend I finally put my bike back together and went for a ride!

Repainted right rearset and passenger pegs
Painted the lower fork tubes (satin black wheel paint, hope it holds up)
Flushed the break fluid
Flushed the coolant
Valve inspection
New spark plugs
Oil/filter change
Good thorough chain clean and lube
Raised the fork 7mm and dropped the clip-ons 10mm

Now I just need effing winter to end so I can go out again. *grumble grumble*

Here the weather has turned to sh!t again... so no riding for me... don't care about the temps... but ice and snow on the road is problematic... 2 wheels on ice and snow kind of suck

so today instead of riding the bike I watched this video... it brings it all home...

As like many here... I've probably watched this film a dozen times in the past couple years now...
How do you even ride your bike with your penis dragging along the ground like it has to? ...and to successfully penetrate your girlfriend from 1 province over. What a REAL man!

I wouldn't pin this on the Americans, fair weather rider syndrome is just as common in Canada.

While working in europe I saw people that would be considered "regular motorcycle commuters" tackling truly ****ty weather and with very little sense of occasion.

Hahah... that is what I wear to ride to work.... 20 minutes at around 5F and it is doable... hands and legs get a touch cold.. but it isn't much to cry about...

all I would need is better gloves and some over pants if I was to ride it for an hour or more.

I hate the cold.. but can manage it as long as the roads are clear of ice and snow... that is the only thing stopping me from riding 12 months of the year

It's not about the temperature... it's about how you dress. If people say 50 deg is cold, it's because they're wearing jeans and leather gloves.

You just toss it over the shoulder... plus when it is that cold you don't have to worry about it as much

Yeah that is true... it seems the Brits ride in some pretty crap weather... ice is where I draw the line though... it isn't so nice when hitting it on 2 wheels...

Perhaps if they start making winter tires for bikes I may reconsider

got to use my bearing puller I just got today :)

Did the bearings on the crf100

Then yanked the crap bearings out of the spare f3 wheel
put the tall windhshield on (stock was scratched to ****)

then cleaned the wheels so it's somewhat less dirty showing it to the potential buyer tomorrow.
