took off the front wheel to grease up the bearings some and checked the brakes while i was at it. took of and cleaned to brake lever and switch. the through-bolt had gotten a little rusty and wasn't allowing the lever to return all the way, so sometimes it looked like i was riding the brakes to folks behind me. cleaned the bolt, applied a coat of grease, put everything back together.

Finally back on the road, big thanks to the SVRider folks who helped me along. Fineshed the tires, sprocket, and chain. Gave her a spit polish. Headlight and gauges need some readjustment but that can wait as it's freezing out with iced roads.
So far the maintenance includes:
Fresh Metzler Sportec M3s
Chain and 14/45 gearing
Carb clean and rebuild
Fresh fork seals
Rear wheel bearings

My curvy lives on......

Today I met with the dude who's doing custom paint on my '02 and we finalized plans for the color. So psyched to see how it's going to come out.

This is the most recent photo. Since it was taken I've replaced the clip-ons and upgraded the brake lever due to a lil track mishap, installed an Ohlins rear shock and got a clean, dent-free tank and Targa solo cowl in advance of the paint-job. Soon as all the bits are back on I bet I'll want to fast-track the frame & swingarm powder coat idea I've been toying with.

This post is by way of re-introduction. I've been a member here (and lover of SVs) for years but haven't posted anything since probably '09.

Hi I'm back.

I can't wait to share photos after paint and whatever other mods I'll be doing...

EDIT: I mentioned it'd been a while but GDit, why isn't the dang flickr link showing up as a photo?!

Welcome back, Marcos! Sounds like a fun time with your bike. As for the photo link, most use photobucket, or another similar photo upload (I use imgup from my phone).

As for me...I didn't do anything to my SV today, but I plotted and planned about how I'm going to molest it this weekend 8) Front seat cover assembled, back seat cover left to create, frame sliders lying in wait, and a couple other things waiting to come in. I wish I was making as much progress on the Bandit...but alas, this is an SV haven ;)

Put my stock mirrors back on. Had bar end mirrors on becuase I like the look, but I no longer want them. Miss the functionality and accessibility of the big stockers. Much better view, and it looks fine. Looks like a UJM

Flickr is a bit weird, first right click the photo and pick the size you want (I picked medium 650) then once the page reloads right click again on the photo and this time click on "properties". From there copy the address in the middle of the pop up and paste in the img brackets.

Replaced the fairing stay bolts with longer ones and installed lock nuts on the extra boltage. Bolts kept coming loose and the fairing would wiggle on every little bump I hit. Locktite would work for a little while but they still kept coming undone. Hopefully this solves the issue.

Woah sweet. There's my bike. I think I follow how you did that. Here's another better shot, I think with new mirrors too, I promise the next one will look totally different and with things I did on the day of posting, just so it's actually relevant to this topic thread....

let's see if photo bucket did any better for me than flickr...

EDIT: yup!

I keep losing the ones that go in the damn radiator! What did you do about those?

Sent my forks to Racetech for Goldvalve treatment and getting ready to install this...

That is sexy!
where did you order it from? I have yet to find an Ohlins for the 1K. Would be curious if the place you got yours from has one.

I finally replaced the bent right footpeg bracket with one that isn't bent (after a year of riding with it like that!). I also installed the Buell lowering pegs.

I'll be converting from clip-ons to bars this weekend, so tonight I tore most of it down. I still need to remove the throttle and clutch cables, but I want to wait to remove those until I am ready to install the new ones, that way I don't lose track of the routing of the cables.

And up next tomorrow:

I think I'll wait to measure and drill the only top triple I have for when I haven't been drinking!

Fired it up after installing a Bazzaz FI and quickshifter. Off-season work included 520 chain, 4-piston front calipers and HH pads, and the Bazzaz. First track day of 2013 is this Sunday. I also dropped 1 tooth in front which should work nicely with the track we'll be at. A short test ride showed way better acceleration at corner exit speeds. It should make things exciting.

Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.
i put a nitron rear mono shock on
it werent to bad apart from one of the retaining bolts at the bottom being to big & cuz its got a piggy back reservoir on it i had to chop the tool box out apart from that it would of been quite easy
