Just thought this would be a cool new topic. If there is already one in existence please let me know so I can delete this one, or a mod can do it. As for me I finished my under tail project and rode the crap out of it.

Fitted up my new Cortech sport tailbag. So far seems pretty nice, and I managed to simply strap it to my rear seat so there are no bungees or straps touching my paint at all 
.

I installed a Steve's TRE on my sv1000 k3 and I love it. A noticeable improvement in throttle response, the power delivery is much smoother and it actually sounds like it running better as well. I'm a Firm believer! If you own a Suzuki do yourself a favor and buy Steve's TRE!

So I had a small crack in my fairing for a little while and just now found time to fix it. Note that I am no mechanic and this is my first time "Plastic Welding". Sorry for the cell phone pics, that was all I have.
Tools:
Soldering Iron
Zip tie
Tools from bike tool kit
Nail polish
Goal: Repair the crack in the fairing.
Plan: Take fairing off for easier access to the crack. Repair using a soldering iron and a zip tie. Touch up with nail polish. Then replace Fairing.
So here is my starting point.

So I started by taking the fairing off. Not as hard as I thought it would be. Now here she is as naked as she will ever get.

Next I took the fairing to my "work" table. Here is my tools

So I took it slow. Melted the zip tie onto the crack from bottom to top starting with melting along the crack then quickly filling it in with the zip tie. Then filled in gaps I missed. Probably would be better if I had a flat tip on the iron instead of the point, but I only had. At the end I had a glob of plastic. Not pretty, but it is on the inside, so no big deal

Next I touched up the out side with a little nail polish I stole from my wife's stash. Shh don't tell . I didn't want to spend a lot of money for such a small area that was basically out of site.
Next I put the fairing back on. This took a bit to get back on. Those plastic fasteners are a pain. But here is the final results

Finally threw on the cheap e-Bay loweres that had been sitting in my basement for 2 years.

The hardware was junk and I botched punching the holes for the frame sliders. Currently it has lame but won't cross thread every time temporary hardware. Some 1/4 turn bits are in the mail. If they work the next question is what to paint them. Shiny black, Silver, a blue that plays nice with the factory paint, match the factory paint, or just F-it and spray some bedliner.
Update: Got the new hardware on and it works! I also followed the suggestions below on paint and put on some lo-gloss engine enamel. It works well and will be kept for now, although I worry about visibility. I also discovered I suck at painting and will have to sand and re-do major areas.

Please not the bedliner. Looking at them in that pic, I would vote semi-gloss black. IMO it would match nicely with the black frame & blue.
Those are neat looking lowers, too. Not bad for cheap ebay stuff.

They look better than I expected, until you look at the seams and ugly holes I chopped. That just makes me want a drink.
I bought gloss black for it and that will be the first try. Bed liner would be a last try to save it. And I think I'll pick up some satin black.

Friday night I replaced the front/rear sprockets with Pitbull Aluminum Sprockets and Blue D.I.D. 520 chain.

Finally got around to cleaning up the wiring from my Aztec8 headlight, Rizoma turn signals and Koso Gauge install. So many wires. Not the greatest but it is done and disguised decently.
