Smashed up one of my side bags and bent my brake lever and/or my right peg. Astonishingly no other damage since my sliders and bag seem to have eaten most of the impact. That was an embarrassing intersection moment.

Based on what little I know about human physiology, I'd say you jumped that last start. Well, maybe not jumped, but your anticipation was spot on. ;D
Yessir, launched on 2nd yellow (ish).
Around here, we call that taking a cat nap! If there isn't a zero to the right of the decimal point there is room for improvement. Sorry to burst your bubble!:D

:eek:ccasion14:, I know-- but I was trying to avoid being gung-ho ricky racer and red lighting on a test & tune night... and maybe my old man brain is a bit slower sending them signals to my old man wrist ;D

Weather permitting, I'll be going back on Friday to run the 1/4 heads up.

I changed the oil. I used Havoline 10W-40. 2.5 quarts. I didn't bother to change the oil filter.

I dont think I'll be using that Rotella anymore. The bike shifts way better now than it ever did with the diesel oil.

Installed the newly painted tank and promptly realized how bad cheap paint is. Put some gas in it and some spilled on the tank and liquified some of the autozone clear coat. :sbmfacepalm: Oh well. I had planned on repainting with Colorrite when the wallet permitted but for now it will have to do. Wifey is already picking out a new color scheme :naughty:(she's good at those things)
Eastwood sells a fuel-safe clear coat in a can that works great. It's an epoxy; you press a button on the bottom of the can to break open the hardener part and mix it up. It has a shelf life of about 24 hours after that, then it solidifies in the can. I was able to liberally cover my whole tank with a thick coat with one can. It runs about $20 per can. It's high gloss, even with no polishing.

Put her in her new garage.

I found what you are talking about here. I'll have to give it a try seeing as how it is quite a bit more affordable than colorrite's solvent resistant clear coat.

FINALLY took it on it's maiden shakedown run after the rebuild/ repaint.

I'll get around to a build thread/ photos someday, but in the meantime some of you will see it at the Meat n' Greet in 3 days. BOOM.

Installed SUburban Machinery Type 1 Bars, Transplanted my old Speedo/Odo into a new gauge cluster and installed in, Got rid of the buell pegs (put my feet at a weird angle), installed Painfully Slow's shorty levers, new pro grips, new black adonized folding shifter.

Wrecking the bike has it's benefits! Shiny new parts!

put the passenger pegs back on so i can mount my new tail bag. motocentric mototrek sport tail bag.

sorry about the big crappy pic

Finally finished installing my new rearsets and replacing my rear reservoir with just some tubing I got from KurvyGirl and a brass fitting to cap it from Lowe's. I replaced the reservoir, because the rearsets positioned the master cylinder such that the stock feed tube was horribly out of shape.

I went from this:

I had bought the rearsets from Bohemian Racing last Spring. I first saw them on this forum cross-posted from BARF. From just last April, they faded from black to a strange but not totally unattractive shade of bronze. I contacted Dennis and sent him the pictures above, and after just a few emails to eliminate the confusion that I caused through poor communications, I had an all new set - minus the right side peg hanger, which was the only piece that didn't fade. Dennis has experienced this a couple of times due to poor anodizing, but I'm pretty sure he has corrected this issue.

If you are thinking about rearsets for your bike, and can't wait for nucular to start production, I would highly recommend these, and recommend Dennis even more. He's a hard working rider, just like us and is committed to his product and excellent customer service. He even let me keep the faded pieces as emergency spares.

Oh, and you'll just have to take my word that the other side looks just as good. I didn't break out the camera until after I tucked the bike away against the wall in the garage, so I only took the picture of the right side, mostly for the tube/reservoir.

today I almost killed myself. Yesterday I changed oil and filter, today I went for a ride with a mate and after 40km we stopped. I checked if there was any oil leak and I found the sump plug was unscrewing out and leaking a bit. Panic. If I had continued maybe 10kms more I probably wouldn't be here to write this.
Make sure you properly tighten your sump plugs!!!!!! Don't be an idiot like me
