rode it 170 miles from MD to VA with Ladyfriend on back. basically like a 300lb dude on an SV. i felt a bit bad for the little bike. :p and it got really cold after sunset. :( overall good ride though. :)

Bled my brakes ready for the rally and the season.

Love those Speed Bleeders although I do use a Mity-Vac first and then use the Speed Bleeders as the final step.

Rode 2-up today for the first time with the wife. The grandparents are in town so we took the opportunity to burden them with the twins for a few hours while we went across town and watched a movie. It was a bit wobbly at first, reminded me of the 1st couple times I rode, period. Once I got the hang of how it handled with the extra weight and she was comfortable with riding pillion (oh yea, it was her 1st time too), it was a blast. "Exhilarating" is how she described it :)

She'll be taking the MSF class later this spring, so who knows, maybe we'll have 2 bikes in the family at some point :)

Awesome!

few weeks ago, my ladyfriend came with me on the bike for the first time.
it was wobbly at first, but as long as she holds tight when going slow, we are stable enough. on her third time on the bike, we rode from Baltimore MD to Richmond VA! Very interesting test for the two of us.

tomorrow, we're heading back to baltimore...

also, i just got a 2nd SV for sporttouring. Ladyfriend also wants to start riding as well, but it will be a while before she'll get to it.

I washed her. There's still salt and liquid ice melt on the roads; that and riding in the rain almost every day makes for a very dirty bike. But, an hour or so later, she looks much better. :D

That's what I did to my SV. If I wanted to post about riding, I would post elsewhere...

Moved license plate to right side to avoid running wires near chain/sprocket. Installed bolt lights and ran wire along bottom of swingarm, around pivot and up body to existing plate light wiring. Soldered and covered with heatshrink tubing. Lights kinda muddle up plate, but at least it has lights and is legal. I may have to shim the lights out a bit so they light up more properly.

Why not just mount it just under the taillight? You are aware that in CA that is not a legal mounting place, right?

I installed new chain/sprockets, but haven't gotten to test them yet because I need to finish up the gas tank, and am out of Argon.

Actually, I was not aware of that. I see it everywhere and haven't heard from anyone saying it wasn't okay. No biggie. If I get dinged for it, I'll just move it. I just wanted to be different. I see other bikes with plates under tail light, but I just didn't like it like that on my bike.

EDIT: Just found this.... 5201. License plates shall at all times be securely fastened to the vehicle for which they are issued so as to prevent the plates from swinging, shall be mounted in a position so as to be clearly visible, and so that the characters are upright and display from left to right, and shall be maintained in a condition so as to be clearly legible. The rear license plate shall be mounted not less than 12 inches nor more than 60 inches from the ground, and the front license plate shall be mounted not more than 60 inches from the ground, except as follows:

Had to drill a hole an insert a bolt because my shift pedal broke when I was trying to straighten it. This was minutes before I was supposed to leave on a 170 miles ride!
Turned out great though! :p ;D

;D I was rushed cuz I had to get on the road and as you say, it worked like a charm! Oh and a bit of a complication was not having a power drill. I started with a tiny dremel and too soon, it died, so I used progressively larger bits clamped in a vice grip. :p

Stripped her down to do repairs from the last roadside hoorah. This last one really dented the tank but it still holds functions sooooo....

Also I'm about finished setting up my new(to me) garage with workbench and electricity and got all of my tools over and in place.

2nd 2-up ride with the wife today, this one much longer (about 2 hours total, as opposed to like 40 min round trip yesterday). We were both a ton more comfortable on the bike than yesterday, and, again, had a blast. As long as the grandparents keep comin' round, we may need to make a habit of this. Though I SERIOUSLY need to find a ZX14 shock to put on there now :-/
